Christmas Eve

The Warrior Ice Prince

The Warrior Ice Prince

Chapter 57 : Christmas Eve

Minwoo's POV:

He looked through his pictures for the millionth time.
Minwoo couldn't help but smile like a fool. A fool in love.
He was amazed by his girlfriend's exceptional beauty in each and every photo.
His heart exploded in happiness once again.
She was his girlfriend. Not Yoseob's. Not Sungjong hyung's. Not any other guy's, but his.
HIM.
"Me." He breathed happily.
Minwoo touched his noona's smiling face in the picture and couldn't not stare.
Her hair always smelled so good, her eyes so bright and pretty, her nose small and cute and her lips...how he longed to kiss them.
But he didn't want to rush things and he was estatic just being the boyfriend of such a beautiful, inside and out, girl.
He hugged the phone to his chest and sighed for the hundredth time.
"Yah, No Minwoo, stop fanboying over your girlfriend and start dancing!" Jeongmin called rather unhappily.
It turned out that he actually really did have a kind of crush of his noona.
He would have been mad at his hyung, but _____ was already his so he decided to leave him alone.
"All right, all right. I'm coming." Minwoo put his phone away and stood up from his spot.
There was almost nothing that could wipe the smile off this love sick fool's face.
Minwoo already smiled all of the time, now it was pretty much permanent.
"Unlike someone," Donghyun eyed Jeongmin.
"I'm happy for you. You finally got _____ noona to fall in love with you."
"Ani! It's not like that. She's giving me a chance so she can stop thinking of that Yoseob." The smile remained planted on his face, but those last two words were filled with venom.
"He's that guy Noona was singing with right?" Youngmin asked.
"Yeah...but enough of that! I don't want to be reminded of that Ice Prince, as Noona calls him. I want to finish practice as soon as possible anyway, I need to go meet with her soon."
"You're so cute. Want to see your girlfriend already." Donghyun ruffled Minwoo's hair.
Minwoo, of course, just smiled. Like a fool.
"You know, Hyung, we're all older than Minwoo...why don't we have girlfriends yet?" Kwangmin asked.
"Hmm, well let's see..." Donghyun pretended to ponder it then pointed to Jeongmin.
"You're too flirtatious."
"Hey!" Jeongmin protested.
"You're too shy." He pointed to Hyunseong who ducked his head low and blushed softly.
"You're too childish." He pointed to Youngmin.
"If you can't love me for who I am, then it's your loss. I just haven't found the right girl yet." Youngmin scoffed.
"And you...you're just nothing special." Lastly, Donghyun pointed at Kwangmin.
"What about you?" Kwangmin asked.
"Me?" He pointed to himself and blinked.
"I'm...too old..."
Jeongmin and Youngmin cackled with laughter.
"Ajusshi!" They called.
"Yah." He glared in their direction.
Their mocking laughs turned into happy laughter when all six of them joined in.
They all may make fun of each other and pull pranks, but they all knew that they didn't really mean it.
That's why they were all friends and to other people, a group of boys that can get along really well, which is perfect for a to-be idol group.
"Okay, let's get to dancing instead of just standing here and chatting like girls. Our audition is not that far away and we still need to improve a lot." Donghyun said.
Everyone got one last drink of water and then got into their places.
Hyunseong started the music.
With _____ stuck in his mind, he danced to the music.
He had done better then he ever had before.

Your POV:

I helped Mir cook dinner, which was rather small compared to the past years.
We would usually host a party on Christmas eve and invite everyone we knew.
Mir would cook all day and prepare a whole table full of delicious foods.
One time, while Mir was cooking the Christmas feast, I wondered if he was sick of always cooking.
Since he was busiest at work on weekends and holidays plus now he had to cook food for at least another twenty people on Christmas eve.
He told me that he didn't mind at all.
He really had a passion for cooking and didn't mind doing a lot of it.
But I couldn't help but try to help him in anyway I could.
It was a lot for one person, no matter how great the love was.
As I grew older, I became responsible for more and more of the dishes and other things Mir wanted me to do.
But he still did most of it by himself.
This year, though, it seemed that everyone was busy.
Luna, Sungjong and her family were busy on vacation somewhere, our neighbours were seeing family all over Korea and overseas, Thunder, Seungho, Joon and G.O. were spending their Christmas' in Japan because they were looking into a university there and everyone else was doing the same or similar.
We didn't mind of course. They had places to be and other family to see, it's not like they had to come.
This year would be a quiet Christmas, but I thought I could use the change.
The only one who would be attending our little party was Minwoo.
I asked him if it was okay not to be with his own family, but he insisted on coming.
I a burner and put a pan over it.
"_____-ah, why don't you go change. I can finish up." Mir said while peeling some vegetables.
"Okay." I dried my hands on my frilly pink apron.
There wasn't a lot of cooking left to do for our modest dinner anyway.
"When is Minwoo getting here?" Mir asked.
I checked the clock on the wall.
"Should be soon, he should had just finished dance practice. Maybe half an hour? Forty five minutes?"
"'Kay!"
I hung my apron on a hook by the fridge and proceeded up stairs.
It had been a few days since I decided to be Minwoo's girlfriend and all throughout those days we had gone out on little dates and had done other couple stuff.
So far, Minwoo was keeping to his word and treating me really well.
The dates he planned were simple, but sweet and romantic and the important part was that he made me happy.
I wondered how I didn't see him before.
I was just too blinded by Yoseob's handsome exterior.
When I was with Minwoo, the Ice Prince was nothing but an unpleasant memory.
I skipped up to my room and searched for the outfit I wanted to wear.
It was a dress that Minwoo had bought me.
Minwoo always bought me presents and I told him to stop because I was feeling very spoiled.
"Get used to being spoiled because one day I'll buy you the whole world!" Was what he told me afterwards.
I smiled at his sweet words and hummed the newly rediscovered song, 'Last Christmas' because of SM entertainment's newest holiday album.
SHINee sounded absolutely wonderful singing the old classic.
(A/N: Last Christmas is NOT by Taylor Swift for those of you who don't already know. Her's is a cover as is SHINee's. It's originally by some...old guy...whose name I don't know. LOL)
The dress was red with white embroidery along bottom of the skirt curving and twisting up the middle to the top of the dress where lacey spaghetti straps rested on the shoulders.
To make it a little bit more Christmasy, I added a black waist belt that was a replica of Santa's own black belt that he always wore.
I applied light make up and shimmery white eye shadow to make my eyes sparkle a bit more and curled my hair so that it was light and bouncy.
In half an hour, I was back downstairs where Mir was arranging the few dishes on the table in a nice white dress shirt...then I looked a little lower.
I automatically face palmed.
"Oppa, do you really have to wear that?" I asked, exasperated.
He turned his head toward me still leaning over the table and fixing one of the foods on a plate.
"What?" He asked innocently and blinked once.
"I told you to dress nicely!"
"I am. What do think this dress shirt is for?" He pinched the fabric and pulled on it.
"Yeah, but what the hell is that?" I pointed to the pants he was wearing.
"Huh? Oh this. Who says you can't be fancy and comfortable?" He was wearing his Pororo pajama pant bottoms. With a dress shirt.
"You look ridiculous."
"It's not like there's going to a lot of people. It's only Minwoo." He said and continued with what he was doing.
I could only sigh.
NO ONE would even think of doing something like this except my brother.
The door bell rang.
I rolled my eyes and walked away, not willing to deal with him and his childish pants plus Minwoo was at the door.
"Here, Noona, this is for you." Minwoo said when I opened that door.
He held out a bouquet of pink tulips.
"Aww, thanks, Minnie. These are so pretty." I accepted them and let him in.
He was holding another two presents to add to everything else he had already gotten me.
I held Minwoo's hand.
"See, Oppa? This is what you're supposed to wear." I said holding up our interlacing hands.
Minwoo was wearing all black and looked really nice in his dress shirt and pants.
"Psh, I know what I'm supposed to wear, I'm just being smart about it."
Mir appeared before us with his 'smart' fashion.
Minwoo was stunned for a moment in shock of seeing his girlfriend's brother wearing such a combination of clothes on such an occasion.
"Hyung, why are you wearing that?" Minwoo asked.
He wanted to laugh really badly.
"He says it's fancy and comfortable." I say and burst out laughing at the ridiculousness that is my oppa.
Minwoo started laughing with me.
"Hmph, you're just jealous because you didn't think of it first."
That just made us laugh even more.
"Sure~" I said.
"Bullseye, Hyung." He wiped a fake tear away.
"I'm going to go put these under the tree." Minwoo disappeared leaving me and Mir alone.
I looked him up and down again and shook my head.
I left him there because looking at him was too hard.
Later, I got Mir to at least change into some sweats. At least there weren't Pororos everywhere.
We sat around and ate and talked and enjoyed one another's company.
Together, the three of us finished most of the food and completely stuffed ourselves.
We lit up the fire place and cast the room with a warm glow.
Our house had one of those old fireplaces that burned real firewood and not just gas.
It was ten minutes before midnight and we were spending that time in silence.
I sat in between Minwoo and Mir.
I leaned on Minwoo's shoulder as he soothingly brushed his thumb over the back of my hand repeatedly while Mir held my other hand.
Finally, when I felt like I was going to fall asleep, it was one minute before Christmas.
The TV was turned to the Square where that big Christmas tree was where they were filming live.
Many people were gathered there and everyone was preparing for the countdown.
(Lol, I don't know if you guys countdown for Christmas, but, uh, yeah, I do.)
Some people started counting at the thirty second mark and as the time got closer to one, more people joined in.
"19." I said.
"18, 17, 16." Mir continued.
"15, 14, 13." Minwoo counted the next three numbers.
"12, 11."
"10, 9, 8, 7, 6..." The three of us joined the live crowd.
"...5, 4, 3, 2, 1!"
"Merry Christmas!" There were whistles and cheers and applause coming from the large group of people.
The camera went back to the MC.
"Christmas is finally here, Korea. As you just saw, everyone is spending their Christmas happily with others as we hope you are. That's it for today's special live broadcast, but it's still not to late to come down and watch the live performances we have in store. To those who can come and to those who can't, we hope you enjoy your holiday season and Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!"
The show ended with commercials.
Mir turned off the TV and started getting out all of the presents that were stuck under the tree.
"Who goes first?" He asked.

Updating a little earlier then I usually do because there may or may not be an update on Sunday or Tuesday.
So if there aren't any, I apologise in advance.
Also, I feel really bad 'cause...well...no one really likes the Minwoo/You couple.
Ice Prince will come soon! I'm sorry it's chapter 61 ;-; One chapter closer to getting there, though~!
Uhmm...yeah...I think that's all I have to say.
Hopefully I'll see you all soon! ^^

Chapter 91: Lol Minwoo did get in Yoseob's way, and I did come here for Yoseob. But I don't think that anyone truly dislikes him, just that his parts were longer than Yoseobs'.
