Chapter 45 : Laugh
Your POV:
I ran.
Around the dorm buildings, the office building, everywhere.
I was sure I searched every inch of the whole campus.
Yet Yoseob was no where to be found.
Panting, I gave up and sat down on a nearby bench.
He had probably already went home.
What other reason was there for his absence?
I sighed with my next breath.
"Where you looking for me?"
My head shot up at the voice.
It couldn't be...
Surely enough, there he was, looking more bad boy then he ever has.
But he didn't look threatening or scary though.
This situation reminded me of before.
Long before.
Back when Yoseob had only just met.
He had said those same exact words.
Slowly, I stood and just stared.
Also just like last time, he appeared out of thin air.
"I thought that we won't know each other next time we met."
I mentally facepalmed.
Why did I say that?
He had the decency to say nothing.
Or maybe he said nothing because that's what he always did when he didn't want to answer a question.
"Look, what you said, yes, I admit, it were true. I did hate you. But aren't we friends now? Don't tell me that all of the time we spent together was for nothing." I say.
I hid my twitching hand behind my back.
He just stood there, his eyes boring into my whole being.
I couldn't read him at all.
Even his eyes were blank and glassy.
Vacant, I decide.
With brave steps, I moved forward to him, closing the space between us.
I stopped abruptly at a certain point and froze on the spot.
His gaze followed and took in every little movement I made.
I had gotten up to here without a plan and now I didn't know what to do.
I raised the hand I was hiding behind my back and lifted it up to my chest, staring down at it.
It tensed and balled up into a fist.
Then I punched Yoseob in the shoulder.
"That's for hurting me." I mutter, unable to met his eyes.
I hear him laugh lightly, then a little more until he's laughing full out.
I look up and see the smile spread across his face as he stood there and laughed at me.
"What's so funny?!" I forced myself to sound angry, but I didn't even convince myself.
He laughter was nice.
It was the first time I had ever heard it and it sounded...nice.
Not like how I expected at all.
I was actually just shocked that he even had the ability to do so.
Maybe I was supposed to be mad at him.
His laughter wasn't mean or mocking though.
He was genuinely amused.
By what? Me punching him?
Suddenly I realize how gutsy I was to do that.
He could have grabbed my fist before it even touched him and twisted my arm off.
But he didn't, so I guess that was okay.
"You know," Yoseob said starting to calm down.
"You really are something."
And he started walking away.
"Y-Yah." I call half a beat too late.
I just watch his shoulders move up and down with more of his laughter as he walked out of sight.
Don't blink, _____, you just witnessed the most peculiar thing the great, almighty Ice Prince has ever done.
This was one of those chapters I'm not too proud about, but, uh, yeah.
