Chapter 33 : Dying Because I Love You
Your POV:
"There is something I want you to know,
Something I want to tell you,
This feeling in my heart,

And this love, it's for you."

Bring myself to tell you of these feelings,
Your beautiful self makes me feel weak and I can't,

These words my heart says,
My lips won't even whisper these same words out loud."
The lyrics flow out naturally, beautifully.
Another spot light appears, trained on Yoseob emerging from the darkness of back stage.
I stand and move forward, Yoseob and I side by side, looking out at the audience.
"I don't need to say it out loud though, right?"

We sing together.
"My unspoken words are evident without words, right?"

"Even so, you don't seem to know,
How I feel,
If I tell you, will you love me too?"
"Say you don't love me back,

But what can I do?"
"I'm dying here just keeping these feelings from you."

I sit back down in my chair and stare at the floor with a pained expression.
"Inside of me,
There is a war,
One side tells me to confess,
The other tells me not to,
What do I do?

Because both sides are me, I'm dying,
Killing myself inside because I love you."
Just as practised, Yoseob slowly sinks to his knees, reaching out toward the air in front of him as if in great pain.
He stands up, head down and sits, slumped in his chair.
I take his place and sing with as much emotion as I can.
"These nights are endless because I can't sleep,
My thoughts of you won't leave my head,
Or maybe it's both because they can't and because I won't let them,
Because I love you so much, I can only love you in my mind,
It's the only place where we are together,
Where I can tell you,
My true feelings,
When I can't in reality."
Clutching my head, like it holds so much pain and suffering, I make wild movements, lash out, as if I was going crazy.
I join Yoseob, sitting in my chair with the same slumped position and again we sing together:

This time, we both stand, moving up stage, facing each other.
"Yes or no, Yes or no,
I don't know,
Now, I can't even look at you without feeling this agony,
Just love me,
That's all that I ask of you,
Only you can end this disease, this torture,
Free me from this hell where there is only me in this one-sided love,
But because you don't know, you can't."
This was the part where he looked deeply into my eyes and brushed a lock of my hair behind my ear.
I also look deeply into his eyes and see the, soft eyes yearning with longing.
It feels so real, I also return the same kind of feelings.
Only, I really wished he would love me too.
"And because I won't tell you,
I will stay here,
Fight myself on the inside,
And die, but who cares?
I'm dying for you, dying for us,
One side would win eventually, right?
When the battle is over and only one remains,
Only then I will tell you,
But for now I won't say word,
Because I can't."
He reaches for me again, but stops halfway.
Retracting his arm and singing the lyrics.

Yoseob walks away from my side, head low, his back facing me.
Filling my eyes with despair, I watch him.
Small little snowflakes start to fall.
"I'm scared, so scared,
That you will reject me,
But I can't help myself any longer,
Living in a world where you don't love me,
It's unbearable,
I must tell you so I can survive,
But, ugh, you're so frustrating, just figure it out by yourself already,
I give you indirect messages but you don't get them at all,
The whole reason I'm doing this is for you,
Why can't you just understand?
Because don't you know?
"I'm in love with you.""
I walk up to him, the space between us clearly shows my fear.
With my fist against my chest, I pretend to rip out my heart showing how unbearable it was to live without his love.
Harshly, I grab his shoulder and spin him around, singing the lyrics as if I was yelling at him.
Then with the last three lines, I soften and go closer.
Taking his hands and lacing our fingers together, I look up at him in the eyes where love pours out.
He looks at me the same way and suddenly it's like there's no air.
It was as if we were in a world where there is only me and him...
