Chapter 39 : "Please Be My Girlfriend."
Your POV:
It was really late. Maybe 2AM.
Done playing and tired out, all of us just lied on towels over the pale blue tiles.
"I could fall asleep right here~" Luna said with her eyes closed.
"Me too."
"Same here."
I was really tired too, but it was a lot of fun and I smiled.
"We'll get sick if we lie here like this when we're still wet." Seungho attempted to be the responsible one, but he made no effort to get up.
For five minutes we just rested.
No one was willing to even sit up.
"Oppa, lets go change." I patted his wrist.
"Araso." He agreed, but didn't move.
"Come on." I patted harder.
I wasn't moving myself.
"Minnie, come on."
I groaned and sat rubbing my eye.
"Oppa, come on. You have the key to the locker." I crawl behind his head and push him up into sitting position.
"Okay, okay." He finally stands and groggily walks away.
Everyone seemed to catch on and made their way to the change rooms.
After getting my bag back, I took it with me back to the women's change room were Jiyoung, Luna and I silently dry ourselves and put our clothes back on.
We all met back in the lobby.
Some of the boys who were done quickly yawned.
"I can drive a couple people home." Seungho raised his hand.
"I have room for three people." Thunder did the same.
"I can take Luna, Sungjong and Jiyoung." Joon said.
I brushed my still soaked hair.
"Actually." Luna said shyly.
"Sungjong and I are going to go home later."
Sungjong just nodded in agreement and walked out with her, but not before thanking Joon for letting them play and bidding everyone good night.
"Have fun." I sing-songed into Luna's ear as I hugged her.
She just blushed.
Everyone excluding Sungjong and Luna, were assigned one of my brother's friends for a ride home.
Mir ended up taking Jiyoung, me and Minwoo.
"Thanks, Joon. We need to hang out again sometime soon." Mir said as he rubbed my hair dry.
"Definitely. We'll arrange something later." Joon said as he locked the glass door of the water park.
"Thanks for letting us play, Oppa." I say.
Jiyoung and Minwoo thank him too.
"No problem. Come again whenever, but preferably when I'm working. It was nice seeing you again, _____ and meeting you all."
"It was nice to meet you too, Hyung." Minwoo bowed.
"Don't sleep too late, kids." Joon saluted and unlocked his car.
The headlights lit up for one second.
On the way home, I invited Minwoo and Jiyoung to stay for a little bit.
Jiyoung declined and said she was just going to collapse into her bed.
Minwoo said he would stay.
So after dropping off Jiyoung, we went into our house.
Mir made hot chocolate for the three of us and we just sat around in the living room talking about whatever.
Mir downed the rest of his beverage and stood, stretching.
"I'm gonna go to sleep. You can sleepover if you want, Minwoo."
"It's okay, I need to be home in the morning, but thanks, Hyung."
"Araso. Be good and don't sleep too late." Mir went into the kitchen and rinsed his cup then headed upstairs.
"Good night, Oppa."
"Good night."
"Mir hyung's cooking really is legendary." Minwoo said taking another sip of his hot chocolate.
I just smiled and nodded.
We continued our conversation and it was just nice to...talk.
"Noona. What do you think of me?" Minwoo asked.
Our cups were emptied long ago.
"You are...." I thought about it.
"Nice, adorable, fun and someone whom I treasure."
"Why do you treasure me?"
"You were always so nice to me from the start. And it's sweet that you care for me a lot."
"Chinchan?" Minwoo asked, pleased with my answer.
"Absolutely."
A comfortable silence settled in.
I lied my head on Minwoo's shoulder and just relaxed.
"Isn't it nice?" Minwoo asked in a quiet voice.
"What's nice?" I asked.
"Like this..."
"Mm..."
There was silence again and I was so comfortable, I started to fall asleep.
I forced myself not to.
"Noona?"
"Yeah?"
"I should go home. It's getting late and you're falling asleep."
"Ani...I'm not." I said very unconvincingly.
He laughed lightly.
"I'll walk you home." I said sitting up and putting on a jacket.
"It's okay, Noona. I can go by myself."
"It's late though."
"You still need to come back after you take me home. It's too late for you to go out."
"But..."
"Just come see me off at the door."
After a pause, I nodded and followed him to the front of the house.
"Get home safely, okay?"
"Ne." Minwoo gave me one last smile and turned around.
"Actually..."
"Hm?" I asked as he turned back to me.
"I still have one more thing to ask."
I wait for him to continue.
"Noona....I...I care for you a lot and I think that you can see that very well, but..."
He trailed off.
Minwoo took both of my hands in his and looked me with sincere eyes.
"Park _____, I really love you, not as your just as your dongsaeng. I love you more then any person in this world and I wish for you to be mine. I wish to be by your side, no longer as a friend, but as a man. Please be my girlfriend."
At first, my eyes just widened at the sudden confession and I search his eyes, but they are dead serious.
He had to be just playing a joke on me.
He never jokes around like this to me though.
Finally, his heart-filled words finally seem to sink into my sleepy brain.
"EH?!"
