Chapter 95

“So, how was daycare?”

“Goody, daddy.” Taehyun replied gleefully, swinging his arms along with Jaejoong while he jumped up & down. His dog skip hop zoo little backpack jingled with his nametag floating along a yellow yarn.

“Careful now.” Jaejoong opened the car door, picked Taehyun up & placed him in his car seat. A smile tilted up at the corner of his lips. He walked over to the driver’s seat & drove off with glances at his little son, “So, what did Bora say when you gave her that rose petal?” He hid a chuckle as Taehyun pouted.

“She eat it, daddy. She say yummy.”

He really did try to hide that chuckle but it came out, “Is that good or bad?” Kids, they have different opinions on love.

“It is good, daddy.” He smiled radiantly, “Bora say she like it. Bora say it smell goody.” He clapped his hands together as if he had succeeded in asking a girl out, “Daddy smart.”

Jaejoong winked, “So, you said it. Your mother couldn’t help falling in love with me.” His voice trailed down a bit at the word of love. Love? His Yul? Yes, to him, it surely seems like it, even though the last week had been none but arguments. Whatever causes her to refuse her own love for him, he couldn’t quite understand. Was he still lying? Was he not a loyal husband? Had he not shown his love enough? She had said it would take a lifetime for him to get her love back. Had it not been a lifetime yet?

“Daddy.”

He looked up at the rear view mirror, seeing Taehyun fussing with the safety belt in his car seat. The nose belongs to Yuri. The eyes, lips & hair, Taehyun had inherited from him. How could such a little, adorable boy lead two immature parents together? It wasn’t a coincident. It wasn’t a miracle. What then? Love? Definitely yes, even the headstrong mommy can’t neglect the true answer.

“Daddy.”

Again, Taehyun’s voice broke his thoughts. Jaejoong lightly shook his head, turning his attention to the road & his son, “Yes, little guy?”

“Hyunnie birthday coming up, daddy.”

That tilted a smile up at the corner of his lips, “Yes, it is.” In more than a month. All he was able to talk about was his birthday, the unborn baby & Bora, the girl he was falling in love with. Was he like that eager too, when he was that age? Surely. Eagerness fills every boy’s mind, effecting him way too much.

“Have you gotten the invitations written out yet?”

He bobbed his head, “Bora get nice one.” Jaejoong laughed. The one you have a crush on always ends up with the best sources, “She likes chocolate with a lot of whip, daddy.”

“I’m sure she does.” He made a turn, entering the driveway, “Girls like a lot of chocolate but you have to stay away from them at times when they eat over the limit.” He winked, “They think they are getting skinnier but truly, we men lie about their weight.” No, not his Yul, she actually needs to eat more chocolate.

His brows narrowed as he spotted an unfamiliar car parked in the driveway. Taehyun’s voice drove in & out of his ear. There she was, leaning in to look down the well she had uncovered. She must have heard the engine of the car, averting & taking some steps forward. Jaejoong looked away, concentrating on the simple parking, “Who is that, daddy?”

Would Taehyun have been asking that if he had married the woman other than his beloved wife at present? “Jessica, sweetheart, it’s Jessica.” His pulse was at its normal beating. His breathing was at its usual but his questions were over asking, “You remember her, don’t you?”

Taehyun nodded silently, waiting for his daddy to take the key out of the ignition & pull him free of the seat belt, “Daddy.”

“I hear you. I’m coming.” He was able to take the key out of the ignition, got out of the car & take Taehyun into his arms as he tried not to think so much of the woman walking towards them, “Are you hungry?” Taehyun nodded but his eyes were on Jessica, “I will cook dinner, much later on.” He shut the door with Taehyun’s backpack hanging on his arm. It hadn’t been a long day but it will be a long night. Not just after he turned around, Jaejoong met the beautiful face.

“Hi.”

He smiled & put Taehyun down on his feet, “Hey. This is a surprises.”

Uncomfortable from his words, Jessica looked down at Taehyun. She smiled a bit, bent down & took a rainbow lollipop out of her pocketbook, “Hello, Hyunnie. Do you remember me?” Taehyun nodded once, his eyes on the lollipop. Her eyes shined as she held the lollipop closer to him, “A little lollipop for a sweet boy.” She raised her brows. Taehyun’s little eyebrows met in the middle. He looked up at his daddy. Jaejoong half-smiled with a nodded. With a yelp of happiness, Taehyun held his hand out & took the lollipop with a thank you, “Your welcome.”

With her gaze up at Jaejoong, Jessica straightened up, “I know questions are filling your head right now, Jae Oppa.” She took a glance at Taehyun as he ran over to the well. Relieved, “I know you are not understanding why I’m here. I don’t understand myself either. Well, maybe a bit.” Her eyes peered up at him through thick eyelashes, “Am I an annoyance to you?”

He shook his head, “Why don’t we go sit before talking?”

She reached her arm out & held him by his arm, stopping him before he can walk away, “No, I’m not here for any importance.” She pulled her arm back, knowing well that he didn’t like it, “You have a beautiful place here.” Her eyes now scanned the cabin & it’s wooden landscape. He couldn’t help but notice the gleaming sparks of tears in her eyes. She was doing it again. Feeling sorry that they hadn’t gotten marry. His heart burned, wishing so much that he had never met her.

“Thank you.” His grip on his son’s backpack tightened. She turned back to look at him.

“I went to your office today & found that you left early to go pick up your son. Junsu Oppa gave me the address & I’m not so sure if it’s good being here. You know, I.”

Jaejoong nodded his head, understanding her. He took a glance at his fossil narrator two-hand automatic stainless steel watch. Three-fifty, it reads, “Why don’t we…?”

“I think I better head back now.” She smiled thinly, “I just came here to give you & Yuri a visit.” She finally frowned; catching that Yuri wasn’t around, “Where is Yuri?”

“She’s at the school & won’t be back until five.”

“Oh.” She looked surprised, “Well, I will catch her whenever then. Goodbye.”

“Bye.”

He watched as she walked back to her car & slowly pulled out of the driveway before waving goodbye to Taehyun. An unusual frown appeared on his forehead. She came here for nothing but mostly only to visit him & Yuri? Was the thought of love for him still in her mind? What happened to Kim Soohyun?

“Come on, Hyunnie.” He called over to his son, who was sitting on the grass, leaning against the well. His little feet stood back onto the ground & his short legs picked his speed back to his daddy. Holding him by the hands, Jaejoong asked, “How’s the lollipop?”

“Yummy, daddy.” He took the paper stick out of his mouth without any topping, “Candy gone.” Jaejoong laughed, “Daddy, can we vite Jessica to my birthday party?”

“How was your holiday?”

Yuri turned around, her loose hair flying over her face. She laughed & brushed it away with patience. Donghae stood at the doorway, leaning against the frame. Being busy cleaning her office, she didn’t hear the door open. Nor had she seen him on the first week back to school after the long holiday. He looked different. More handsome, more muscular & more tanned. How could he have worked out in the winter coldness & get a tan? That was unanswerable to her. Nor will she ask him.

“It was great.” She answered, after a few seconds of staring. Turning back around, she started to sack the folders up on the bookshelf, “Come in & have a seat. I won’t be leaving until five.” She heard the door lightly closing, “& how was your holiday? Heard that you weren’t back for the first week of school like rest.”

He smiled, “It was good. I went to Jamaica with my sister & her husband.”

“Ah.” Yuri mumbled. That answered her question, “No wonder you look so different.”

He laughed, slowing it down to a stop. She looked over her shoulder, seeing him staring at the new photo frame Jaejoong had positioned on her desk during the lunch she didn’t want to have with him, Jaejoong kissing her under a mistletoe. She couldn’t help but exhale an undefined sigh. She’s a married woman, a mother & a woman loved by the most cherished husband that can be found on the planet. If the man really likes her, shouldn’t he see that he should stop it? Shouldn’t he see that it would only cause turmoil?

“Meet anyone in Jamaica in particular?”

“No.” Donghae answered, breaking his eyes away from the picture. He studied her back with her hands moving from here to there, “Where did you & Jaejoong go?”

She didn’t want to change the subject to the new year she had with Jaejoong yet; the question if Donghae has a girlfriend was in her mind. He’s handsome, has a nice job & kind in personality. Where was his girlfriend? She couldn’t just be the only one hanging in his mind.

“We went to Europe.” Yuri simply answered. She bit her pale pink lips & turned around, meeting him in the eye. He quickly looked away & pretended as if nothing had happened. Her lips thinned. Was she getting to him? “I heard from Mina that you had been visiting Hyunnie while Jaejoong & I were away on new years.” She somehow smiled, “Thanks for keeping my boy company before you went off on your trip.”

“I love kids.” She noticed his eyes moving back to the picture frame.

“Are you in any relationship now?” Donghae looked up to meet her eyes. Her eyes questioned his, “Any woman in mind?” It seemed to take him a while to shake his head, “I have someone in mind for you.” She sat down, “My parents’ next door neighbor has a daughter that visits her parents regularly; she’s beautiful, nice & very respectable. Why not get into a coincidence bump?”

That seemed to bring up a smile onto his face, “That’s nice but I have someone in mind.”

Yuri raised her brows, “But I thought you said…”

“I did.” Donghae interrupted lightly, “But that was a mistaken reply.” He got up, that smile still on his lips.

“I think the boys are done with their miles so I will be heading back. It’s nice to see you again, after that long holiday. I will see you tomorrow.” He raised his hand & walked out.

Yuri sat in surprised at his fast dismissal. What just happened, she wasn’t sure but his face showed something she had seen before; that woman in his mind was the woman in the picture frame being kiss by her husband.

A/N: i'm sorry but this is the update i can do for today since the library will be closing soon & i'm sorry for tomorrow too since i won't be able to update because we have guests coming over & it wouldn't be nice to not be home but i will update again when the weekends come or maybe earlier if my parents sign up with Comcast quickly
