Child Custody, Love Custody

Child Custody, Love Custody

Chapter 76

Yuri made a jump & cheered as the Insu Lee score. Her cheeks were flushed with joy in the dark & crowded night. Lights were shining down on the one hundred yard soccer field. Fans cheered but the guests groaned. She looked down at Taehyun as he waved a pair of red & blue pompom in the air. She burst out laughing. Picking him up, she kissed his cheeks & showed him the soccer field he couldn’t see after the crowd went wild.

“It’s great, isn’t it?” He bobbed his head.

The crowd once more settled back down & waited until Insu Lee can have the ball again. A beacon went off, indicating the second half. Yuri hugged Taehyun closer. The night air was getting cooler & she hadn’t thought of bringing jackets. A flag was thrown for personal foul by one of Donghae’s lineman. Yuri’s eyes moved to search for his reaction & caught him easily. His arms were being thrown about violently at the referee who was eighty yards away from him & his voice was heard to the top of the bleachers. Yuri couldn’t help but let out a smile. Surely, every coach can get tick off even at his or her nicest beings.

She looked down at her son on her lap as he crouched again, “Sweetie.” She tipped his face to look up at her, “You are sick.”

Taehyun shook his head, “Watch soccer, mommy.” He protested being sick just because of a soccer game. She sighed at her stupidity of not bringing a jacket! She felt his forehead. It wasn’t hot but she was sure he was having a cold.

“Let’s go home. I don’t want you to catched a sore throat. These high school kids are already having them. Come on, we will be very warm at home.” He whined but put his arms around her neck as she stood up. She walked down the bleachers carefully. Her arms were growing goosebumps by the cold.

“Going home so fast?” Donghae’s voice appeared at her back just as they were at the ticket booth.

Yuri turned around & smiled, “Hi. I didn’t think that you will see us.”

He smiled back, “I did. Is this your son?”

She nodded, “Hyunnie, this is Mr. Lee, he’s the coach.”

He popped his head out of his mommy’s chest with a pout. His eyes skimmed the man in front slowly without interests, “Hello.” Then he cuddled back into his mommy’s chest with a groan.

“I’m sorry. He’s catching a cold & I forgot to bring his jacket. He’s quite grumpy now.”

“Happens all the time. Did you enjoyed the game?”

“It was great. I will…”

“Mommy!” Taehyun whined, & started to kick his feet.

“I have to go now. Bye.”

“Goodbye. See you on monday.”

Yuri turned & continued the walked to the car Jaejoong had given her for a wedding gift. She was disappointed in Taehyun’s mood towards Donghae but it was his usual way when he gets sick. She patted his back while opening the door with her other hand, “I will make you some soup when we get home. How does that sound?” He nodded. She seated him in & drove off. It was worth it to miss the game, even though she knew she had disappointed Donghae. Maybe on a night not as cool, they can both go back out & see a game. Reaching the apartment building, Yuri picked up the sleeping Taehyun. The soup will have to wait until tomorrow. She carefully picked out the apartment key, careful not to wake him up. Entering the threshold, she closed the door. The house was dark without any light but she made her way to Taehyun’s bedroom without trouble. Tucking him in, she kissed him. With a stretch of tiredness, her foot found them into the dark kitchen. She took out his medicine & walked back out into the living room. Just as she was about to turn on the lights, a voice spoke up from the dark, making her jump.

“Don’t bother to turn on the lights. You didn’t even bother to leave a note where you had taken Hyunnie.”

A sound of blinds opening was heard. The moonlight lay on her sharply. Footsteps were heard from the dark corner. Then he appeared in front of her, blocking half of the light away from her face & showing the side of his face. He appeared to be bitter. His jaw was clenched hard. His eyes, even in the dimmed room, visibly show madness & at the same time, worries & she noticed then, he was more furious than the day he had found out about Taehyun.

“Where had you been with Hyunnie?” He asked roughly.

Yuri stood her ground. She wasn’t about to be scared by a man who thought can rule her life. Instead, she heightened to her full length, “At a soccer game.”

He growled lowly. His fists were clenched to keep from grabbing her but his temper grew at her calm voice, “& you didn’t even care to leave a damn note?!”

“I didn’t think it was necessary.”

“Not necessary!” Jaejoong shouted, “What do you mean by that?! Of course, it’s necessary! I was worry sick about Hyunnie when I couldn’t find him! Your parents & my parents weren’t the least happy, Yul! Damn!” He turned around & when he was sure he was away from her, he turned back around & threw his arms in the air, “I thought you were still at school trying to finish whatever you were doing. I tried to call you but couldn’t.” He raked his hair angrily, “I was about to sent out a search party when Mina called & told me you had taken him to a game.” He buried his face into his palm to calm himself down, “You worried me, Yul.”

“I’m sorry.” She whispered.

He threw his head back up. His eyes were trying to glare at her but couldn’t. They turned soft, “No, you aren’t. You don’t care if you had even worried me.”

Yuri grimaced, not knowing what to do. Her heart ached at being so childish & not to inform him of her whereabouts. To tell the truth, she hadn’t even thought of giving him a notice. She brushed her hair away & turned.

“Where are you going?”

“I need to give Hyunnie his medicine. He’s having a cold. I forgot to get his jacket before leaving for the game.” “God damnit! When will you ever think of everybody else around you instead of yourself? Is the game so important?”

Yuri closed her eyes. She felt anger rising up. Before she can rage at him, she nailed her fists by her side. Her eyes shot open again, “I need to give Hyunnie his medicine.” She walked away & he didn’t stop her. The inside of her grew heavy. She sat by Taehyun’s bedside & shortly waked him up. He moaned, “It’s just mommy, Hyunnie. Open your mouth. There you go. A little bit wider. Okay, you are doing good, sweetheart.” She let the liquid on the spoon slip into his wee mouth, “Swallow for me? There you go. You will get well soon. Goodnight.” She kissed his forehead & still sat. His little snores were heard around the room again, but yet, she couldn’t bring herself to go back out there. She wasn’t scared of him nor was she going to be. It was the worries in his eyes & voice that had made her go weak a while ago. She wasn’t sure she was comfortable with that feeling from him towards her but nonetheless, she was the one who had created the problem.

Without a hesitating sigh, Yuri stood up & walked back out into the living room. She found him sitting on a chair, facing the window with his elbows on his knees & his face buried in his palm. He had opened the window to its fullest. The breeze was found chilling but the rain made her feelings worst. Somewhat, she knew the exact answer to why he had opened the window.

Her heart sunk more at the thought of the soccer game being a disaster but surely, Insu Lee will know how to lighten his teammates up along with the grumpy coach.

“How is Hyunnie?” His rough voice interrupted her thoughts.

“Sick.” She replied calmly.

He was silent for some minutes & when he spoke, his voice was sincere, “I’m sorry I yelled at you. I never really think before speaking.”

Yuri moaned inwardly. Her heart ached. She knew he had been trying his best to be so passionate, except she couldn’t help but deject his caresses words & doings. He had been spending his time with her more than she had wanted him too, & he had always been patient with her since they had been married again. Yuri blinked in desperation. She was too tough to get along with. Why can’t he just stop & leave her alone? Everything was so much better when they are far away from one another.

One time in love with him was enough to say that there will be no bright future for both of them again. In the past, he had always talked about the bright future they will be living in but she now, sees nothing. Nothing was bright. Nothing was happy like she had always wished for them to be. Accept his sweet words? No, she can never do that again. She hadn’t even forgiven him yet for what he had done to her in the past. However, can she ever accept him again? She was just going along within the bargain. There was no deal to fall back in love when she accepted his proposal. She was just supposed to get along with him & she was doing it by staying away from him.

“Yul.” He slowly said again, “I had always understand why you never accepted my apologies. It started since that day you saw Jessica in this apartment with me. Then it got worst when we got the divorce & over the edge four years after.” Jaejoong rubbed his eyes & got up slowly. Yuri stood still as he made his way over to her. He stood, looking down at her eyes. His eyes glinted, “I’m sorry for what I had done. I’m sorry for everything I did to hurt you. I regret cheating on you, Yul. So much. I should have never done such a thing you would never do to me. If I didn’t do any of those, we could have been living happily together. I’m really sorry.” Her eyes never glinted, “You look tired.”

“I’m not. I want your forgiveness because of my stupidity. I’m really sorry for what I did, Yul. I know you never trust me anymore but I’m willing to do anything to get your trust back into my hands.”

“It will take you a lifetime, Jaejoong Oppa.”

“So it will be. I don’t care if it takes me a lifetime to get that forgiveness & trust back from you.”

“You will never get it, Oppa.” Yuri whispered, “You never will.” A breeze came from the open window & blew her response away.

He reached up to touch her cheek. She blinked sluggishly at his touch, “Is that why you are always going to bed ahead of me? You are still so insensitive to my touch.”

“Don’t…”

“I figured out why you went to that game without leaving a note to me. You have that coach in mind. You like him, don’t you? Maybe I was wrong about you not cheating on me. You might even be cheating on me right now but why did you take Hyunnie along? Are you trying to find him a new daddy? Don’t be so cruel, Yul. I will always be his daddy. Even if you are trying to make Hyunnie like that coach, he will be only my son. Don’t you remember the consequences of cheating that we have for this marriage?”

Yuri inhaled deeply & then exhaled. He still had his palm on her cheek, “Think what you like, Oppa, but I’m not going to give Hyunnie up yet.”

He growled. His anger went up again. Jerking his hand away from her cheek, Jaejoong turned away from her & went to the window. The breeze brushed against his skin. He inhaled in the fresh air & let it out gently.

“If it’s not him you went to the game with Hyunnie then what is it?”

“I went because I wanted to. Like you said, I needed some time off from work so I did. I went to the game with Hyunnie & relaxed myself & it felt great, Oppa.”

“Just because I wasn’t there?”

Yuri jerked at his added words. She hadn’t even let a thought of him enter her mind during the game & if he was there with them, Yuri was sure he had had added more fun, “Yes.” answered instead.

He lifted his head & stared up at a teddy bear hanging from above, “I should had guessed, too.” He whispered. Then turning to look back at her, he said, “No wonder you didn’t tell me at lunch.” He walked up to her. Then with a stare, Jaejoong stalked away, calling “I will sleep in Hyunnie’s room tonight.”

As he left, a cold breeze swept passed her. Yuri hugged herself. Why did she just have to say that? It was enough worrying him. She once was a fool for now. Walking into the silent bedroom, she gazed around as if lost. If he was to sleep in Taehyun’s room tonight, she was sure to sleep alone in that big & empty bed. She wouldn’t miss his arms about her waist. For she had always hated his touch. She wouldn’t miss the smell of his after-shave when waking up in the middle of the night. For she will not be waking up in the middle of the night on this sleep & she wouldn’t miss his little sweet talks or his kisses whenever he wakes up first. For he will not be sleeping with her tonight.

With chin tilted up, Yuri walked into the bathroom to take a long shower.
