I remember when we met that summer day, the sun shining down on us, the two of us strangers and had no idea what that one day would bring us. It has been four years since that day, and I’ve spent the last four years loving every moment I’ve gotten to have with you at my side, hating the time you had to be away, and the times when we couldn’t see each other for stupid reasons. It’s now four years later, and I’m sitting at that same fountain in hope you’ll show up again…

“Hey Minho still dating Soo Ae?” A friend asks passing by, nodding my head he smiles. “Stay strong!”

I remember our first fight, our first legitimate fight. You were yelling at me with tears streaming down your face and I remember thinking ‘God I hate myself for making you this upset’. As soon as I thought that I stopped shouting, I took you into my arms and told you I’m sorry. After your tears stopped you kissed my cheek and told me sorry as well. I knew it was at that moment I’d love you for the rest of my life.

Seeing you run over to me panting and smiling at me that bright happy smile I smirk at you panting. “You’re a little late you know.” I chide you as you stand tall, still shorter than me.

“I’m sorry, I was turning in my paper, but we can go now.” You say in your melodic voice. “Minho, I love you.” You say turning to face me while dragging me by the hand.

Chuckling I return the sentiment. “I love you too Soo Ae.”

I remember the day we met, and we went to my favorite place to grab a quick lunch, and how we kept returning to that same place, ordering new things on the menu, having usual Monday and exotic Thursday just to mix things up. I love how much time we’ve spent together.

“Yah, oppa you’re spacing out again!” Soo Ae says smacking my arm playfully. “You’ve been doing that more and more.” It could be because you’ll be leaving for a trip and I won’t get to see you for nearly a year. What am I going to do without you; I can barely go a day without hearing your voice, seeing you smile at me like you have since we met.

“Sorry, come on I want to show you something.” I tell her paying for the meal and dragging her across town back to the fountain where I first saw her. Sitting her down I smile at her, taking a picture to remember this for the rest of my life, not that I’ll need the picture.

Pulling out the ring I get down on one knee and smile at the distracted Soo Ae by the water. “Soo Ae, I’ve loved you for four years, and I can’t stand to think of you being far away from me, but I’ll bear it in hopes that when you return you’ll be my wife.” I say to her catching her attention.

Shocked she throws her arms around me, “Yes, yes a thousand times yes!” She whispers in my ear, as I slip the ring on I smile at my beautiful fiancée. “I really love you, and the trip will go by in a flash.” She whispers kissing me happily.

Pulling apart I admire how naturally beautiful she is, the way the sun shines down on her and the thought that this is the one I’ll be spending the rest of my life with.
