In The Moment
SHINee One Shots & Drabbles
“For the last time Key, just get out.” I yell at him feeling the rush of adrenaline, the feeling of rage as Key and I fight yet again.
“Soon-Kyu you say that but you never mean it!” Key yells just as upset. “You never mean anything you say!”
Glaring at him I shake my head. “I am so sick of you always thinking you know everything!”
“Well maybe if you knew something you wouldn’t feel like that.” Key counters angrily. “I don’t understand why we even bother.”
Feeling my tears beginning to brim over I fall to the ground. “Then why are you still here?” I ask him quietly, the rage gone only to be replaced by the pain of heart break. “If you don’t know why and since you think I’m so stupid why don’t you just leave me?”
Key stares at me, like he’s just gotten what he’s said, the meaning behind his words. “Soon-Kyu…” He whispers apologetically. “I didn’t mean…”
Shaking my head I stand up wiping my tears away I glare at him. “But you said it.” I whisper.
“You know I didn’t mean it, I just…” Key says looking at me pleadingly. “Soon-Kyu it was all just in the moment.”
Turning away from him I grip at my arms. “In the moment, not in the moment does it really matter?” I ask him quietly trying to choke back a sob. “Key you still said it…”
“Hey guys…” Jonghyun says bursting into the room, at the wrong moment like always. “Oh…I’ll just”
“No need.” I tell him turning to face them. “I was just going.”
“Soon-Kyu no, we aren’t done talking.” Key says grasping my arm.
Jerking it away I look at his eyes. “We are though, I’m stupid and I don’t know anything, I’m leaving. Problem solved now you don’t have to waste your precious time in any more ‘in the moments’.” I tell him coldly.
Shocked Key’s arms drop to his sides, taking this as my cue I exit the room leaving a stunned Key and Jonghyun, passing by Taemin, Minho and Onew keeping my gaze down I rush pass them. Coming to the large lobby I look around at the SM Entertainment lobby, quickly heading for the doors I make my way to the revolving doors.
“WAIT!” Hearing Key’s voice bounce off the walls I stop in my tracks. “Soon-Kyu you’re worth everything, my time, affection and care. You aren’t stupid, you’re brilliant, you’re so intelligent…You know that, and I know I don’t compliment you enough or spend enough time with you but you have to know that I care deeply about you, and we may not be at the ‘L’ word yet but I know we’ll get there.” Key announces. “I don’t want to wake up tomorrow to realize I lost you because of me being stupid, because I was caught up in the moment, but it’s those moments that build up to the good times.”
With the crowd watching us, hearing his footsteps carrying him closer to me, eventually to him turning me around and leaning his forehead on mine. “I’d be insane to let you go without a fight.”
Staring at him I whisper feeling his place his hands on my face. “I’m sorry.” I whisper to Key.
He smiles at me. “I am too,” Kissing me gently on the lips he sighs relieved. “Come on after rehearsal I’ll make you something to eat.”
Nodding my head I follow him numbly as he leads me back down the halls I’d just walked, back into the room where we’d been shouting things we didn’t really mean because we were caught up in the moment. And just like that in a simple moment I was back in Key’s life, not that I’d been gone very long, in a moment of him fighting, explaining and declaring to the SM Entertainment lobby and its occupants I’d fallen all the more for Key.
My endings are getting pretty bad -.-;;
