Alive Again
SHINee One Shots & Drabbles
Opening the door, to say the least I was surprised because there standing is Minho. Choi Minho. “What?” I ask standing still; I don’t want this to be a dream, it’d be too cruel, I’m not sure if my heart would be able to take it. “Minho…”
Stepping inside Minho closes the door behind him, staring at me, just like he used to. “I missed you so much Jiyeon.” Wrapping his arms around me, Minho’s tight embrace bringing back so many memories, having him so close I feel as though life was suddenly brought back to me, like the last few years have been nothing.
“I missed you too.” I mumble into his neck. “I’ve missed you so much.” Holding back my tears I smile, it’s not a dream, Minho is really here. “Minho…”
Pulling away slowly Minho holds me as though I’m some sort of fragile glass figurine, and in the sad truth I’m not that far off from broken. If this turns out wrong I could shatter. “I’m glad you saw, that you wrote me.” He starts, kissing the top of my head in the process. “Jiyeon you’ve been well right?” He asks, those large doe-like eyes watching me full of concern.
Nodding my head I sigh happily. “I’ve been doing fine. And you?” I ask him blinking back my tears, tears of joy.
He grins kissing my forehead. “Right now is the best I’ve felt since we were last together, before.” He whispers. I can relate, before he became famous and achieved his dream we were together, we were happy. But like those wise people say, you have to let go of what you love. I let go.
“Why’d you come? Don’t get me wrong I’m glad you did but…” I mumble quickly watching him, his hand the side of my face, like he can’t believe any of this either.
Those loving eyes look into mine, and he starts to talk “I want you still, I can’t move on. How can I when you’re the only person I’ve ever had.” His sweet words melt my heart, “We could make this work now, Jiyeon you and I can be together happily.”
As a few tears slip past Minho wipes them away, “This isn’t a dream right?” I ask him feeling as though at any moment reality will come crashing and I’ll wake up. If I were to wake up my heart would crack in half, crumble to dust and I’m afraid I wouldn’t b able to salvage anything. I couldn’t lose him twice. Once was hard enough, it was so difficult, I wasn’t ready to let go and I’m still not ready.
He chuckle is reassuring. “No, I’m real, you’re wake.” He mumbles pulling me close again. “I don’t want to spend another moment in the ‘what if’.”
Gulping I grip his shirt. “Minho I love you still.” I whisper pressing my face into his chest. “I’ve loved you for so long.”
Minho’s grip tightens, and then releases a little. “I love you too Jiyeon.”
Leading me to the couch Minho sits me down, letting me rest my head on his shoulder and for a moment I feel like nothing has changed and I woke up from a cruel dream. A dream where I had to lose Minho to let him be him, to do what he wants, that he’d never come back to me and he’d forgotten all about me. “Do you remember what I told you before I left?” Minho asks me after we sit in silence, soaking in each other’s presence.
“You’d find me again one day and you’d give me the life I deserve.” I mumble word for word, I’ve never forgotten that promise. I never wanted to lose that, it’d been my hope Minho and I would see each other again and we’d still be in love.
“I didn’t either,” He says lacing his hand in mine, the warmth he gives off comforting to my uneasy heart. “I want to keep that promise to you. Jiyeon I want to give you everything you deserve and you want.”
Squeezing his hand I clamp my eyes shut. “Minho all I want is you, I don’t need anything else.”
Chuckling he kisses my cheek this time. “I’ll love you always.”
“That’s all I want, Minho I’ve given you everything I have.”
Looking into his eyes Minho kisses my lips finally, and it was as though my heart started to beat, air filled my lungs and all those forgotten functions I hadn’t be able to do since Minho came rushing back to me.
