A Message To You
SHINee One Shots & Drabbles
Every once in a while you realize how special someone is to you, and how much you wish you’d had this epiphany before, that you could go back and tell them how much you really care for them because now you know it’s too late. That your chance with them has passed and is gone.
“Minho is there anyone that you want to say something to out there?” He asks leaning forward as if ready to pounce on him for a juicy tid-bit of his personal life.
“Actually there is one person I’d like to give a message to.” Minho says causing a wave of surprise to ripple through the other guests, even his closest friends. Looking towards the MC nodding his head gesturing for him to start.
As the camera zooms in on Minho’s upper body he smiles awkwardly, without even realizing it I find myself smiling, hoping that he’ll say something to me, that the years we spent together weren’t forgotten, that he misses me, that he thinks about me from time to time, that in some small part of my heart he’ll ask for me to move on so that I know I’ve lost my chance, to know that he doesn’t love me.
“Who are you sending a message to?” The MC asks while Minho looks like he’s trying to figure out the words.
“To a girl that I’d known for a very long time…” He pauses and smiles like he’s remembering something good. “We were in love.”
Gasps roll through the crowds, guests, everyone, all his fans are probably ready to go rabid. “What happened?”
Frowning he lets out a drawn out sigh. “I joined SHINee, I became a trainee.”
Holding my breath, and my tears I sit on edge waiting for him to tell the story, our story.
“Was she upset?” The MC presses. “That you choose fame over her?”
Chuckling a strained and depressed laugh he shakes his head. “She wanted me to do this, in fact she cheered me on when I wanted to give up, and she was there for me when I thought I was alone.” Watching Minho shake from sadness made my heart ache, reaching out I place my hand on the screen as if this could comfort him. “She always knew what to do or say to make me feel better, to make me try harder, to get up and try again…”
“You sound like you care about her still.” Key says looking at him sadly. “A lot.”
Smiling bitter-sweetly into the camera Minho nods his head. “Yeobo, I want you to know I care about you still, that I hope you’re happy, that you’ll try and let me know that you’re hearing this, that you’ll know I’m talking to you. I know I haven’t talked to you in a long time, but I think about you a lot.”
Crying I nod my head. “Oppa.”
“She sounds so special…” Jonghyun says patting Minho on the back. “You must miss her a lot.”
“Hyung, why didn’t you tell us about her?” Taemin asks looking up at Minho with concern. “Hyung?”
Watching him smile while he tells the MC and everyone watching about a girl he once knew, the girl that wanted all this for him. “When we were together that was all that mattered, so it was difficult trying to think of an ideal because even now my ideal is her, but I don’t think it’ll matter, she couldn’t live like this.”
“She left?” A girl on the show asks holding her chest sadly. “Did she leave?”
Minho shakes his head. “I did, she told me that she wanted for me to do this even if it means losing her like we both knew it would. I’m hoping though that she’s happy.”
Aww’s irrupted the set as Minho looked down sadly. “You must really miss her.”
He laughed. “I’ll always miss her.”
“Are you sure she’ll know it’s her?” Onew asks quietly.
“How about a name?”
“Aniyo, I’m not going to risk that.” Minho says firmly.
“Where you first met?”
“A bus stop.” I mumble as Minho says it. “On our way to nowhere in particular.”
Standing up I turn the T.V. off, grabbing a pen and piece of paper I write a letter Minho. A message to let him know everything I’ve wished I’d told him back then.
Well This turned out to be a little sad? But I sort of like the concept of it. :)
