Meeting for the first time

Skipping in the hot summer air happily enjoying my free day, I don’t have to go to work, I don’t have school and the weather is just gorgeous, skipping along until I come to a water fountain. Looking around I see a guy, him looking around appearing lost or maybe free. Noticing me he smiles and waves.

“Hi.” He says taking a seat next to me. “Nice day?”

Laughing at him I nod my head. “Perfect and yours?”

He smiles at me looking around he takes a deep breath. “Perfect.”

Studying his face, his large doe like eyes, his hair in a pony tail, his tall lean body all this sitting next to me. “I’m Soo Ae.”

Grinning at me he turns to face me fully. “Minho, so Soo Ae what are you doing on this beautiful day?”

Puffing my cheeks out; I look around. “Nothing really, it’s the first time in a while that I actually have some time to kill.” I confess.

“I know what you mean,” Minho breaths happily, like he’s taken a load off his chest. “Well I’m not really doing anything, and it is lunch time…” He leads off standing up, “Want to come?” He says extending his hand.

Staring at it in awe, I grasp it tightly, getting up we walk for a while before he turns suddenly into a little café. “This place has a great sandwich.” He says excitedly.

Chuckling I follow him in, greeting the owners, Minho tells me to pick a seat while he orders, doing as I’m told I pick a seat near the back with a window, through the window a tree is placed directly in front of it, a lovely view of the tree, letting in just enough sun to warm you up, but not too much to make you bake.

Minho takes a seat across from me setting a wrapped package in front of me along with a bottle of water. “Omo, thank you!” I say smiling. “How much do I owe you?”

“Nothing.” He says amusedly. “You picked the same table I always pick.” He comments absently, a vague look of distant contentment.

“Minho?” I ask waving a hand in his face playfully only for him to grab it. “Deh?”

Letting out an airy laugh he releases my hand. “Eat.”

“I’ll eat well.” I tell him opening the wrapping, revealing a fresh smell of bread and other assortments of food, taking a bite my taste buds are sent on a trip around the world enjoying all the most delicious food possible before returning, Minho is watching me expectantly. “This THE most amazing food I have ever eaten in my entire life.” I tell him happily. “Thank you.”

Chuckling he nods his head approvingly. “I know.”

For the rest of the day Minho and I enjoy our time together spending the whole day wasted around by talking, taking a walk in the park, stopping to help a little kid find his mother, but at the end of it Minho walked me home.

“Soo Ae I hope today was good.” Minho says bashfully.

Giving him an expectant look I push his shoulder slightly. “As if, today was amazing.”

“So I can see you again?” He asks a bit more confidently.

“Definitely”, taking a pen I scribble my number on his hand. “Call me sometime.”

Closing the door I smile to myself, I spent the most perfect day with a guy I just met and for once it feels like it’ll last.
