Chapter 73
Dragon of the East"What am I doing here?" I asked myself out loud one Saturday morning. "I could be in Korea right now, what am I doing here?"
I put on some clothes and went out for a walk. Simply walking around, it all reminded me of Junghwa-oppa. There's the bakery where he gave me our rings. There's the flower shop where he got me flowers on Valentine's day. There's the chocolaterie where he got me a rose-shaped white chocolate on my birthday. There, up ahead was the supermarket where we did our grocery shopping. There was the gazebo right by the sea where we stopped for a break that one time we went out biking.
I shook him out of my head. He wouldn't want me to be like this. I hurried back home a took out my suitcases. I was moving out.
I was almost all packed but I was out of suitcases already. I sighed. This had never happened before. I looked around and could find nothing. I guess I'll have to get another one.
The next morning, I got a new suitcase and packed up the rest of my things. As I was packing the last thing out of my dresser, something fell out of it. A letter.
I picked it up and began to read.
"Kimmy-ah,
I'm writing this as you sleep. You look so peaceful. I wonder what you're dreaming of? However, I don't think you'll find this until the day I pass away, maybe even later. In any case, it'll be the last things I'll tell you.
