Chapter 112
Dragon of the EastHalf a week later, gossip magazines were on our backs again. Well, just mine, actually. And this time it was just my carelessness that sparked it. Picking up a copy, I scoffed.
"'I love you more' she says" was the headline. It described a conversation I was familiar with, I mean it happened just last Friday on my way to the gas station.
Oh brother. Now they were suspecting my phone calls? Not that I blamed them completely. Korea's biggest star is getting married, this is history in the making, but... Did they not realize how bad they made themselves look?
"Ji, come look at this!" I said as we pushed a grocery cart through the cash register line.
He joined me and picked up a different copy. Where were the paparazzi now? Could they not snap a few of him reading the front page and laughing?
"Wow. Wowie. They are really getting excited here." Jiyong chuckled.
"How can you laugh, though?" I asked him.
"Because I know it's not real... Is it?" he smirked.
"Seriously, Ji. As if." I rolled my eyes and kissed his outstretched cheek. I took the booklet out of his hands and put it back on the shelf.
We proceeded to pay for our groceries and I pushed the cart forward, placing our items in cardboard boxes to make it easier to carry to Ji's car. Before leaving the store, I noticed some girls picking up a copy of the same magazine we were just looking at. I laughed, wondering if they knew G-Dragon himself had just touched the paper they were holding.
"What's so funny?" Jiyong asked me.
"Nothing. Don't you ever laugh at fans while in disguise?" I said.
"Sometimes. But I usually try not to get attention when I'm in disguise."
"Right." I laughed some more until it was all out of my system.
We packed the car with all the food we'd bought. We had to stuff it all in the backseat because the trunk was housing the home decor. We took our seats and prepared ourselves for a long day of setting up a home.
Turning the key to our new home— wow I feel giddy just thinking that— we stepped into a bare house, not yet a home, but on its way there. There were couches covered in plastic sheets for protection, the walls had splotches of color from when we were being indecisive about the color we wanted, and the bedrooms had nothing but boxes of things and bare furniture.
So far, the only parts of the house mostly finished were the kitchen and the bathrooms. By mostly, I mean the room is finished, we just have to put things in it.
We first filled the fridge with what we just purchased from the supermarket. When that was done, we decided to finish painting before decorating and really making the place our own. Yes, that's right. I rolled up my sleeves. We're painting this place ourselves.
Ji brought out the paint rollers while I dragged the paint canisters.
