Hyuk’s POV

“Mae khrab~” I called out loudly as soon as we all step out of the van. Surprisingly, my brother, Ai’Gun was able to bring us all here alive with his driving skills. “Pa khrab~” I called out again but this time to my father. Our house still looks the same. My Mae’s still has her small vegetable garden in front of the house and Pa’s scoter is still in front of the front gate.

I don’t live in a big grand house like those that people can see in lakorn, but our house is big enough to accommodate my guest. I heard the heavy footsteps of my parents as soon as we enter our house. My brothers follow after pulling our things. My mae and my pa came in view after some few seconds and I immediately wai at them. In the corner of my eyes, I saw Hae, Heechul Hyung, and Heemi doing the same gesture that I did. “My son~” my mae said with visible happiness and my pa only smiles at us. They wai at my friends as well, “Come in—come in~” my mae said inviting everyone inside the living room.

“Woi P’ khrab, why do you have a lot of things?” Ai’Gun complain loudly in Thai and I can’t help but shake my head, “Then don’t get your new vinyl cd and some chocolate, na Nong?” I a bit and settle down on the couch with Hae beside me and Heechul Hyung and Heemi at the other couch. “Serves you right, P’,” Ai’Cap also teased our brother and the second monkey run so fast to me, “P’, Ai’Gun is just kidding. Please give the cd and chocolate to me later, na P’? Na na na na?” he holds the hem of my shirt and pull it again and again.

‘Ai’Gun is already 20 years old but he acts like 10 years old while Ai’Cap is 19 but he acts more mature than Ai’Gun.’

“Okay—okay—stop pulling my shirt~” I don’t even intend to make it hard for him so I gave in easily and in the corner of my eye I can see the evil duo (Heechul Hyung and Heemi) whispering at each other while pointing their accusing fingers at me.

My parents also sit down next to Hae because that is the only available space while Ai’Cap is nowhere—he probably put our things upstairs and Ai’Gun is in the middle of the stairs already. “You look healthier, son.” My pa said with warm smile on his face. I can’t help but show off a little bit, “Of course Pa, my wife is really good at taking care of me khrab~”

I feel a light pinch on my side. I know that everyone in the house can understand the conversation because my pa and I talked to each other in English. In our house, everyone can speak English well because my pa and mae used to let tourist stay in our house when we were young for extra income. The three our us (Ai’Gun and Ai’Cap) was forced to speak English until we became better at it. It was also my advantage when I started working in Korea.

“And this lovely boy beside you my son is your wife—khrab?” my Mae asked and she shifted her attention to my Hae. Good thing my Hae has good manners. Again, he wai at my parents, “Ahm – sawadee khrab—I am Lee Donghae~” I am so proud hearing my own language coming out of his mouth.

Being in a relationship with Hae for a year—he learned a lot of Thai already and I am almost fluent in Korean already. He is very open minded learning my culture and my language. He told me before that he loves everything about me including my race. “Your brothers are right, your lovely Hae really looks suway~” my mae has this natural talent to flattering everyone. Hae looks so shy right now, “Thank you~” he mumbles and immediately buries his head on my nape. My parents laugh loudly.

My parents are very chill. They don’t want to force the three of us into something that we might not like so they let us choose our major and they don’t intervene into our personal life. I wasn’t even afraid when I introduced Hae to them when we had video call on skype before. Their principle is, ‘As long as you are happy, then we are also happy.’

“How about your two more lovely guest, son?” my father points at the evil duo. “Ah—sawadee ka~” both of them said. They look harmless right now, “My name is Kim Heechul and this is my daughter—Kim Heemi.” He said softly. Right now, my hyung looks as harmless as a butterfly and his daughter looks as lovely as a flower—but I know them better.

My parents smile at them, “You have a lovely daughter, Heechul khrab,” my mae starts again. I think she learns all of those flattery words because of those foreigners before. “Of course—” and here they go, “Heemi got her looks from Heechul Umma and Hangeng Appa.” I also like to add that she got her self-confidence from her Heechul Umma. “I can see the resemblance my dear~” my mae still has her smile on her face. “Anyway, you all are probably tired from your flight, khrab? So mae and I prepared our early dinner already.” My pa interrupted the conversation. We arrived around 5pm so my parents prepared dinner already.

“Heemi—Heechul hyung, you both can handle spicy food—right?” I asked them first because my parents already stand up. Heechul hyung nods his head, “Don’t be a worry wart Hyuk. My daughter can eat the chili for me if I can’t stand it anymore.” And we all stand up with my Hae still burying his head on my nape. “Do you want me to feed you Hae?” I asked him—teasing him a bit. He loves my affection but not in public.

His face is burning red when he pulled out from my nape, “You are so mean Hyukkie~” he whined cutely. “Don’t do that Hae—I might bring you upstairs and eat you instead of my mae’s dish.” I whispered dangerously close to his ears to let him know that being cute is a no no right now. He hits my chest couple of times though.

“Ai’Cap, Ai’Gun, how was university?” we are all sitting around the dining table eating Tom Yum (Spicy Shrimp Soup) that I missed, Khao Pad (Fried Rice) with lots of chili, Gaeng Keow Wan Kai (Green Chicken Curry), and Som Tum (Papaya Salad). I seriously missed my mae’s cooking.

Both heads look up at me, “Er—it was good P’, I am still part of the band that P’Gun was in, khrab.” Ai’Cap answered politely this time. “Well—P’Hyuk, aside from the band—Ai’Cap and I hang out a lot these days because—ai woi not hang out P’ because we are in the same band so Ai’Cap and I usually have band rehearsals—khrab.” And my second brother is still hard to talk with.

I only nod my head, “What kind of band is that Oppa?” Heemi suddenly asked with her red face because her Umma really put most of the chili on her plate. “Well—Nong we told you about the rehearsals before, right?” Ai’Cap slowly explain to her, “Neh!” She answered right away, “We had a very big performance last month so—” Ai’Cap cut himself and Ai’Gun backed him up, “It’s not really so interesting Nong. Just us performing. You can even search the performance on YouTube khrab.”

Hae clap his hands a bit, “I want to watch—let’s watch later—neh Hyukkie?” then his doe eyes showed up.

‘Patience Hyuk—you need to endure for a bit.’

I gulp before answering, “Sure Hae, we can watch it later in the living room.”

I don’t know if I am imagining things but when I took a quick glance at my brothers they are both hitting each other’s arms and mouthing some words. Weird—I mean they are usually weird but this time it looks weirder. I wonder why~
