Donghae’s POV

I remember having a conversation with Heechul hyung before I got into a serious relationship with Hyukkie. He told me, “When you fall in love you cannot choose the person that you will fall to. It will happen naturally without any warning. It wall make your world upside down and regardless of that person’s race, skin color, eye color, body shape, hairstyle, attitude, or even gender—doesn’t really matter anymore. Because my dear, this heart—will only beat for the right person. So I am so proud of you that you are brave enough to embrace your feelings towards Hyuk.” No one will probably believe me but Heechul hyung is like my second father. I knew him since elementary school because he was my cousin’s ex-boyfriend that time. He was 10 years older than me but he never treated me like an infant because he wanted me to grow up.

I was so proud of him when he told me that he will be a father—well mother soon with Hangeng hyung. I know how much hyung struggled because of the wild criticisms and even Heemi suffered but I promised to also protect his family just like how he protected me and Hyukkie. I am glad that I have a Kim Heechul in my life and right now I want to be like that to Gun. I don’t want him to get clouded by his fear with Hyukkie.

“P’ khrab,” he started and I know he is scared of me now. I asked him to seat at the gazebo so that we can have a proper conversation. Hyuk has been so patient teaching me Thai one step at a time and I am glad that I am able to understand most Thai words that I was able to understand Gun and Mark’s conversation. “Calm down first Gun. I am not here to scold you. I am here to listen to you first.” I said calmly.

The ongoing party inside the house is still loud but not loud enough for us to not hear each other, “I am—scared na khrab.” He finally admitted. He is just like is brother, “I won’t say a word to Hyuk for now—but first I need to hear the whole story. I will not judge you—don’t worry.” I want him to trust me because if he won’t, how can I help him?

He nods, “khrab P’, soooo—that was P’Mark khrab. He has been bothering me na woie for the past month or maybe only weeks. I don’t know him at first because I am not really interested in IC students. They are rich and out of this world—it’s like lakorn khrab P’. Normal students are poor people and IC students are rich poeple.” I smile a bit on how innocent he explained the difference. “This P’, by the end of the soccer match between IC and College of Music, this P’ suddenly announced that he likes me to the whole school—woie P’ that was the most embarrassing moment of my life.” Hyukkie is right, Gun really has this natural talent to talk in an entertaining way, “Then I thought ‘Maybe P’ is just kidding or maybe P’ made a bet with some IC students,’ but no P’, P’Mark followed me—everywhere in school. He always shows up after my classes. During breaks he will appear out of nowhere. He keeps on telling me how much he likes me, misses me, and even say more disgusting things P’. I don’t know what to do na woie so I told him to stop it already because I am not interested in him P’.”

I keep on nodding and smiling at his story, “And why did Captain get involved?” I asked again and if it’s possible, Gun’s face became paler, “Awww P’ I don’t think—” “I actually have an idea already—I just need to hear it from you.” I tried to push it more. I don’t want to be nosy but I have too in this situation, “Err—P’ don’t let Ai’Cap know that I am the culprit—khrab?” “Arraso~” he let me swore using our pinky. He is really innocent.

“Well—all I know is—Ai’White approached Ai’Cap after our band performance and Ai’Cap was frustrated at first then after a while he lets Ai’White follows him everywhere. Every night they are talking over the phone na P’ it’s so irritating because Ai’Cap keeps on whispering. But if Ai’Cap likes him—I will not say anything P’ because I value Ai’Cap’s happiness over something. Besides, Mae khrab and Pa khrab won’t mind—but P’Hyuk will—” and I know sooner or later my boyfriend’s name will come out, “You are a good older brother Gun. I can see how much you love Captain.”

He grins at me with all his teeth coming out and also showing his gums, just like Hyukkie’s smile, “But you know—Hyukkie just want what’s best for both of you. He doesn’t want anything that can harm his precious brothers. I know his protectiveness can be suffocating but believe me, when Hyuk sees the happiness in both of you, he will back off and listen.” Gun still look hesitant. His eyes keep on looking everywhere, “P’—have you seen my P’ got mad?” and suddenly a painful memory of angry Hyukkie became vivid in my mind.

“As a matter of fact—I did.” His trembling hands and his eyes full of hatred are still scary, “But I don’t think I should be the one telling that story to you. Wait until you brother gathers his courage to tell you, neh?” he is a good kid. He listens very well.

“But Gun, are you sure that you won’t regret rejecting Mark’s love for you?” because I know that Mark is serious. When I saw him today and his eyes, I suddenly remember myself when Hyukkie and I first have our couple fight. We almost broke up, “I am sure P’ I am not kidding. I know that P’Mark will be better off without me. He is a good guy but not good for me khrab. I want him to explore more and not cage himself to me P’. It will make me feel guilty. And P’, I am not even gay—or attracted to him.” Again I just keep on nodding while listening to him.

I smile in the end, “If you say so. But Gun remember this, gender cannot be vary between male and female—same with love. You cannot choose whom you will fall in love with.” There I said it. I decided to stand up before Hyukkie panics because I am too long gone, “And Gun, cheer up. If Hyukkie reacts violently or get mad—I will try to help you—ani not only you but both you and Captain because the moment I stepped into this country, I know that I am part of your family already.” Then I bid my goodbye.

The party ended with Heemi complaining while cleaning the mess. It’s already 10pm and we are still halfway done, “Oppa, you should have let your friends clean with us na kah. Look at me Oppa, I am sweating allover. Look at Gun Gege, he is sweating too.” Good thing Hyukkie is not drunk or else this girl will hear something bad coming out from Hyukkie’s mouth.

Neh, I witnessed a very drunk Hyukkie before in Korea and he has a very nasty mouth. He kept on cursing to random people, even to me but ignored him. But getting him drunk is not really a bad idea at all. When we arrived in our apartment, Hyukkie pounced at me like a hungry tiger seeing a piece of meat. We make love until sunrise and I was sore all over—even my throat was sore because he told me to scream many times. The next morning, he cannot remember a thing but felt guilty when I limped while walking for the entire day.

“Mae khrab what do you think? Should I buy aircon already for the entire house? It’s always hot na khrab the whole year, I don’t want you all to sweat like crazy, Mae.” I giggle when I heard his suggestion. This kind of idea is something that Gun and Hyukkie would suggest. “Chai P’, you are smart. We should buy the aircon na woie. It’s like all year here is summer P’.” See, Gun agreed right away.

In the corner, I can see Captain rolling his eyes, “That would be expensive my son. Expensive for the electricity and also buying the aircon.” I agree with that. They keep on arguing for quite some time and I keep on grabbing empty cans of beer. Hyukkie was not kidding when he told me about the hazing team in university—they were all crazy and uncontrollable.

“Umma I almost found my first real love—” Heemi’s voice sounded so sad beside me and suddenly Captain came out of the kitchen laughing like crazy with Gun following him, “You shouldn’t expect too much Nong Heemi. P’Title is normally like that. Mysterious and quiet.” Title? The handsome tall tan boy that is part of Gun and Captain’s band?

I take a peek at Heemi and she is stomping her feet like a little kid, “Title Gege told me that I am funny because I used many different languages kah then he also told me that he had never seen someone so fascinating like me. Gege even wipe the corner of my lips when I eat the donut na kah—the suddenly Gege said that he needed to go because his boyfriend is waiting for him. ARGHHHHH UMMA~” now she’s already throwing tantrums but the two boys are laughing like crazy, “If Ai'Cooheart heard about this Nong, he will pull all your hair. Khrab, he looks harmless and innocent but he only looks that way—his personality is like a demon in angel’s appearance. You don’t want to mess up with his property na Nong.” Gun said while still laughing like crazy.

“Chai Nong, we are not even sure how P’Title ended up dating him—but P’Title only change his personality in front of him.” Captain explained further and all Heemi can do is stomp her feet in frustration.

“ARGHHH WHY EVERY GEGE HERE IS GAY NA KAH!!!” she shouted before marching upstairs. We all ended up laughing at her.
