Heemi’s POV

The day has come that I need to force myself to enjoy something. Today is the last day of our trip—well not really the last day because tomorrow is the last day but tomorrow we will leave around 10am so we don’t have time to roam around Bangkok anymore. Thankfully, Cap Gege and Gun Gege decided to ditch their classes because let’s be real—Cap Gege probably listens well during the class but I doubt Gun Gege understands everything.

What did I learn for the almost 1 and half month I’ve stayed here in Thailand—in Hyuk Oppa’s house? First, I looked up at Hyuk Oppa because he took care of me very well but watching him crumble and be broken also broke myself. The Oppa I’ve thought was the strongest person I’ve known couldn’t find himself anymore. Second, Donghae Oppa. I practically grew up with Oppa and always thinking that Oppa was a very pushed over person. He easily says yes in everything—but watching his grow and realizing that he is also the foundation of the relationship between him and Hyuk Oppa makes me feel proud. My Oppa, you’ve grown into a good person. Third, Cap Gege. I’ve only known him from Skype when Hyuk Oppa introduced him to me. I thought, ‘This Gege is very uptight and scary,’ but seeing how he tried his best to be a good boyfriend to P’White and a good brother to Hyuk Oppa is very impressive. Lastly, Gun Gege. This Gege—maybe in his whole family, he is the least person I’ve expected to give me so much warmth and welcoming—but I was wrong. Gun Gege welcomed me in his family wide open like I’ve been part of it for many years. Yes, he may be a bit—he is slow okay but that doesn’t make him less awesome person.

I will always bring those discoveries I have in Korea and looking at these four people walking happily with Donghae Oppa and Hyuk Oppa holding hands and Cap Gege and Gun Gege following behind, this scene makes me smile too. “Mei mei, why are you smiling so much?” I shake my head and look at my side, “Baba—let’s go back to Korea na kah~” now I know I can go back happily. I am luckier with Baba holding my hand tightly and also showing his one in a million smile.

I don’t know what has been bothering to my most favorite Baba in the world but I want him to enjoy the day. “We will Mai Mai—and this Gege will make sure to bring you to good places,” he spoils me so much that was why I depended on him so much too when I was young. Good thing when he left, Donghae Oppa was there or else I might choose to live in China and not in Korea.

The busy road of Bangkok looks kind of scary with people rushing here and then but Baba holds my hands so tightly that I won’t get lost, “Do you want to go to Amphawa na khrab Nong?” Gun Gege looks behind just to asked me, “I am not sure Gege what is Amphawa na kah but if we can eat good food na kah then I am okay~” I easily get pleased—all you need is good food to eat then I am go, “Woie~ There are a lot of good food na khrab in Amphawa—it’s a floating market na Nong—we can ride boat and then we can buy many things na khrab there and then we can meet my cousin na khrab because he lives near there!” this Gege—I feel tired just by listening to him, “Aww that sounds so good na kah Gege—let’s go~” I said happily.

Gun Gege already tell Hyuk Oppa about my decision and Baba? He nudges my hand a bit, “Mei Mei, please try not to be easily sway by fan cai.” He is always worried about small things which make him so adorable and caring to me. This is what I really love about Baba. I hope that being in a relationship is not true—I should ask Dayu Gege is he knows about Baba’s lover. They are best friend; Dayu Gege knows everything about Baba. “Neh—I will try na kah, Baba,” I answered for his peace of mind.

“Ai’ Kris!!” I was so shocked when I saw a guy running towards us with his bright smile and hands waving in the air, “Woie!!! P’Hyuk na khrab~” he sounds so happy seeing Hyuk Oppa and I wonder if this is the cousin that Gun Gege told me before going here in Amphawa. Speaking of this place, it looks more crowded but I am so fascinated with many boats and many things to buy.

I wasn’t able to catch what Hyuk Oppa, Gun Gege, and this P’Kris was talking about because it’s all in Thai. Good thing I have Baba with me who keeps on asking me if I am okay or if it’s too hot already. “I am okay na kah, Baba,” I assured him because he won’t stop asking me. “Nong—come here~” then that’s my cue when I saw Gun Gege calling me and gesturing for me to come over. Of course, Baba will come over too because we are like in set here.

We walk towards Hyuk Oppa and stopped just between Gun Gege and Dongahe Oppa, “Ai’Kris, this is my special guest. She is Kim Heemi—she’s like a little sister to me in Korea—and this is Wang Qing—her cousin. He lives in China but he is having a vacation here and in Korea,” Hyuk Oppa introduced us and I quickly wai at this P’, “Sawadee kah, P’~” I assumed already that he is older because there is no way he is younger than me. I nudge Baba to follow me and he did—but he didn’t say ‘Sawadee khrab,’ bad Baba.

This P’ wai at us, “Sawadee khrab Nong Heemi—P’Wang Qing—I am Kris Songsamphant but you can call me Kris,” I wonder if all Hyuk Oppa’s relatives all look handsome because I’ve only met P’Kris and of course his brothers—well his friends all look handsome—and loud. I am not sure why though because Hyuk Oppa is a bit different to them especially to P’Off and P’Yatch.

“Ahm P’—Gun Gege told me na kah that you live here in Amphawa,” I started because I just want to make people feel comfortable around me, “Chai Nong—I live around na area na khrab~” his personality is really great—now I wish Rina Unni is here too. She will definitely like talking to P’Kris, “When it floods na P’—don’t you get drown?” sad to say, I am too curious about many things, “Because P’—in Korea, you cannot live near Han river na kah because it’s very dangerous na kah so I wonder—isn’t it dangerous living here P’?” I feel a soft nudge on the side by Baba but remember, I am not the only curios person here, “Woie~ you are so smart na khrab Nong—I never asked Ai’Kris about it! Because when it rains, Mae and Pa don’t want us to go out because rain in Bangkok is really stressful na khrab but I am not sure what’s stressful because Ai’Cap and I like to play during rainy season—even Ai’Plan run to my house during rainy season,” I feel sad—I also want to play with the rain.

Cap Gege suddenly hit Gun Gege’s head, “Don’t feed the kid some weird stuff P’Gun.” But there’s nothing wrong to what Gun Gege told me, “Woie! Ai’Cap! You are being weird again! I am not feeding Nong Heemi! I don’t have food with me na khrab!” but I should expect that to Gun Gege. They laugh at what he said but Gege doesn’t even know what’s wrong and why people are laughing, “You really never change P’Gun—but Nong~” then P’Kris looks at me—I am shocked when he levels his face near mine, I hope I am not blushing because I don’t like when guys are being so close to me, I easily get shy, “When the water level rises here in Amphawa, people living here are advice na khrab to evacuate so that we will not be in danger.” This P’—he is so well mannered.

I nod my head slowly but I also feel how Baba pulls me a bit to make a good distance between me and P’Kris, “I really appreciate you educating my Mei Mei about your place Di Di, but you don’t need to be that close to her,” see—awwww Baba really cares about me—maybe he is more over protective that my Appa which makes him perfect baby sitter for me (like what Umma told me this morning before we left the house.)

P’Kris pulled away and smile bigger, “Woie—I’m sorry na khrab P’, I didn’t know that I can’t be that close to Nong Heemi,” but why do I feel bad? He didn’t do anything, “You don’t need to feel sorry na P’Kris, Baba is very protective to me na kah because I am the only girl cousin he has,” and I am not sure why I am explaining to this P’.

He shakes it off actually and then we just went straight to our tour to Amphawa.
