New Year Special I
Golden Quill - The Leaders (GQ3)A/N - HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone. Hope you all have great years. Thank you for the support. Planning to definitely complete GQ3 soon!
This is a New Year Speical and tells a story from Kris's youth. For those who are familiar with Kris's background (GQ2) he grew up in Hong Kong and got into a lot of trouble before he was found by the Madame.
“Everyone knows the plan, right?”
The group sat around the table. The cheap beer flowed, and they were in high spirits ahead of their latest job.
“We’ll meet at 5 pm and head over. The staff are received at the back entrance. The party is expected to start at 7.” Li Wei went over the details again. He was worried about the younger guys. They’d never pulled such a big job before and nerves were bound to get in the way, “We can’t afford any mistakes.” Wei looked pointedly at the new recruits. Three scrawny runts from the streets. “Yifan,” Cheng whispered.
Jian was already snoring. Jian could sleep through pretty much anything. Yifan didn’t trust a guy like that. How could you rely on someone who wouldn’t hear an attack coming?
“I have a bad feeling about the job. I don’t think we should go.” Cheng continued.
“Do what you want. I’m going.” He rolled over to stare at the wall. He was the last guy Cheng should look to for good advice.
“Are you really planning to leave?”
Yifan closed his eyes and pretended to sleep. He should never have told this hanger on his plans.
The New Year’s Eve party held at the mansion of a real estate developer was a big deal. The catering trucks arrived early in the morning, the ev
