Chen entered the gallery. He’d been meaning to do this for a while now, but his schedule hadn’t been compromising. He was on his way to the Woo Estate for dinner and managed to fit in a quick stop.

“Can I help you?” the front desk clerk, took in the man’s tailored suit, Swiss dress watch, smart hairstyle, coiffed to the left and the American smartphone. A definite potential sale could happen.

“Yes, I’m interested in one of your artists.”

“Which one, we have a number of…”
“Cheon In-sung. I believe he had a showing here.”

“I’m afraid most of his prints sold out after that showing. He’s in demand these days.”

You don’t say. Chen thought bitterly. My wife is adding to that demand, “My wife simply adores him, and our anniversary is coming up…” he trailed off suggestively.

“I could pass on his contacts to you. In-sung ssi sometimes allows private viewings at his home.”

“That would be great.” Chen offered one of his charming smiles. The clerk hurried to fetch the details, “Thanks for this.” Chen waved the card, before leaving the gallery.

“What a shame.” The clerk sighed, watching as Chen crossed the street. 

“What is?” another clerk came to stand beside her

“That a man like that is already married. He came here especially to get his wife a print from her fave artist.”

“He must really love his wife.”

“They don’t make them like that anymore.”
