“I believe it was you who did the leaving,” Kai said tersely. He raised bemused brows, “Let’s talk.”
Sung-kyung was thrilled, so much so that she momentarily forgot about Kris. Kai showing up here at this time of night had to mean he was thinking about her too!
“Where’s Kris?” Kai asked once she’d led him to the library. He walked along the wall of books, stopping now and then to pull out a book that must have interested him.
“Oppa should be back soon, um…” he glanced over at her, then returned to reading the pocket of a limited-edition Tolstoy, “Um, would you like something to drink?”
“You have bar privileges?” he remarked snarkily, “I should have known Kris would do something like this. You two have always had a weird relationship. Master and Slave wasn’t it?”
He was enjoying having a dig at her. “Well would you like that drink?” she gritted her teeth. She was really trying to keep her cool here, but Kai still knew how to irritate the out of her.
“No. Lilly is waiting at home for me.” He pulled out a plain white envelope from his coat pocket and placed it on a side table where Kris and Tao were building a 2000-piece puzzle of a fantasy city in the skies.
