Kris arrived home exhausted from a round of heavy discussions with the board. They needed convincing on his projected expenditure for the next quarter. Even after he’d turned his father’s company around, saved it even. Saved Woo Investments and in turn this estate, they still doubted him.

This board was supposed to support him. It had been newly elected when he took over the Presidency from his father but now, he could see the change happening. Sung-kyung lay on a lounger painting her nails devil red. A butler stood with a bottle of champagne. There were French sweets piled on platters, expensive Belgium chocolate towers, strawberries dipped in chocolate. The horses were out of the stables and roaming the grounds, “Yah Lee Sung-kyung! Sung-kyung, deigned to look up at him, “Bwo?”

She sounded like a spoilt teenager and Kris wanted to put her over his knee and smack her.“Aren’t you supposed to be at the store?”

“Why should I?” she inspected her nails. 

“Uh, I don’t know? Maybe because I’m spending millions on you and I want a return on my investment? Maybe because you have every household in this Consortium running after you, do you know what one hour of mine, or Chen and Kyungsoo’s time costs?”

“Yeah yeah.” She rolled her eyes, “you want me to tell you how important you are right?”
