Taeyoon stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her skin looked brighter. Her lips were a little swollen from all the kissing. Chanyeol was a good kisser. She covered her face a little embarrassed to think she’d approached him like that in the open. They’d spent the rest of the day making love and talking about their plans. First, they’d need to tell Kyungsoo, then their parents, then everyone else. It was a strange order of things, but both felt they needed her brother’s approval in order for their relationship to progress smoothly.

Taeyoon was both nervous and excited about finally coming clean.

 She left the bathroom, maybe they should get something to eat.

“What is this?” Chanyeol held up her phone?

Taeyoon froze

“What happened to Scott?”

“Chanyeol?” Minah knocked on Chanyeol's suite.  She needed to explain to someone close to Chen. If he wouldn’t listen to her then he’d have to listen to Chanyeol. Kris would have been an option, but he was so angry at her. Minah felt at a loss. “Chanyeol? I can hear you in there. Come on. I need to speak to you.”

Chanyeol caught Taeyoon’s shoulders and shook her, “Why did you come back? I thought it was strange.”

Taeyoon was too shocked to respond.

“Chanyeol?!!!” Minah banged on the door. 

Chanyeol swore

Minah barged into the suite and threw open the double doors of the bedroom. “What?” she took in the scene of her brother-in-law and her sister. “Uh…”

Taeyoon covered her face and sat on the bed. Chanyeol threw up his hands, “Don’t you knock now?”

“Yah! How can the two of you do this to me?!!!”

“Why is everything about you?” Taeyoon inspected her nails. “You cheated on the best guy around.”

“Exactly,” Chanyeol smiled at Taeyoon and forgot the weird messages for the time being. “Don’t take out your frustration on our relationship?”

“Oh! So now you’re official?” Minah scoffed, “Not if I have anything to do with it!” she pulled out her phone feeling vengeful. This was all their fault for telling Chen anyway.

“What are you doing?” Taeyoon started to stand and approach her sister.

“I’m going to tell oppa what you’re up to. What do you think he’ll say when he finds out you slept with his friend? And while you were still married to Scott.”

“We were separated.”

“It has nothing to do with you,” Chanyeol also advanced on her, “give me the phone Minah.”

“Or what?” Minah turned around and ran out of the room, dialling Kyungsoo as she did.

“Come back here!” Taeyoon scrambled after her sister.

Minah screamed and ran around the bannister to the opposite side and stared across at Chanyeol and Taeyoon.

Then something unexpected happened – the power went off, the house was thrown into darkness. From her nursery, Yeji started crying. The Nanny could be heard soothing her.

“What happened?” Taeyoon asked, “is there a power failure?”

“We have a generator,” Minah immediately answered, “it should have kicked in by now.”

“Stay calm.” Chanyeol could hear the nervousness in their voices “I’m going to call the security office and ask them to check the grounds.” Somewhere downstairs a glass shattered. Chanyeol checked his phone, he didn’t have reception, “Do you have signal?”

“None?” Taeyeon and Minah confirmed in a panic.

“Oppa what’s happening?” Minah asked him. She’d felt her way back toward them.

“Isn’t there a control hub in your suite?” he asked her.

“Yes, I think so…in Chen’s dressing room.”

“Wait here…”
