Caught!?
Golden Quill - The Leaders (GQ3)Chen came across the cheating test in Minah’s study. He’d been searching for Emerald’s Annual Winter Gala guest list, Minah was the last one working on it, and there it was. Just lying there, begging him to take a look. She’d filled it out. The results were…shocking. Did it mean anything? Were these tests a reliable representation of the state of his marriage?
Anyway, it was that test that made him stay home that morning instead of rushing off to the office. Even though there were a ton of things to do. Plus, this whole break up Kai’s engagement was giving him stress. The Song House Master had made it her personal mission to make his and Xiumin’s life a living hell. With the authority to act on behalf of Song Gaelin, September had somehow made him and Kyungsoo agree to renovate the site for Sung-kyung’s new shop on his Emerald Walk. His phone was bombarded by production schedules and status reports, all with that God damned purple crest of the “Stuck-Up Estate”.
But…there were more important things to worry about. He needed to figure out if his wife was so unhappy that she was considering cheating on him. Or, if she already had...
Minah entered the morning room with Chanyeol. They were arguing about his brother’s antics at last night’s dinner.“I am a member of this Consortium too. I can bring a date if I want to.”
“Not to our weekly dinners, which…” she held up a finger, “Is to discuss Consortium and family matters. We are all so busy and those dinners are the only chance for all of us to sit together.”
“You sound like an old witch.” He groaned and ran a hand through his hair, “Minah, isn’t it better that I introduce you to my dates? Or would you prefer I do a Kai and just intro you to my fiancé?” he ducked as Minah took a swipe at him.
“I expect better from you Min Chanyeol.”
“Well don’t. I’m a notorious playboy. All the tabloids say so.”
“Why you!”
“Ahem…” Chen cleared his throat.
Both turned, they’d been oblivious to his presence.
“You’re still here?” Minah sat at the opposite head of the table. Chanyeol sat in the middle of them. There were five chairs on each side of him. It was ridiculous. No wonder this family had issues.
“What will you have?” he prompted.
No one responded. Chanyeol was on his phone, a ridiculous grin on his face. Probably ting Moon Soo-jin. Minah was also on her phone, her fingers flying across the keys. Minah and that damned phone. Even when they were in school.
“I said, what are you guys having for breakfast.”
“An omelette,” Chanyeol ordered and the butler nodded, “Coffee, French press.” He looked up to the ceiling considering his options, “Smoked trout. No salmon. Lots of herbs.”
“Coffee,” Minah didn’t look up from her phone, “Half a grapefruit. Yoghurt…” she sighed as if it were all so boring, “Honey on the side…”
Chen opened his mouth to order
“Walnuts,” Minah continued. Still typing, pausing every now and then to add something to her order.
“Is that it?” Chen drummed his fingers impatiently on the table.
Minah met his eyes, “No one asked you to stay. You’re normally gone when we have our breakfast.”
“From now on, we’re going to have breakfast together. As a family.”
“huh?” both Minah and Chanyeol l
