Sung-kyung patted down the last bit of grass with September and Haneul. It was just past 6 pm and they were finally done. It had taken them literally the whole day to finish things off. The digging is what took forever and the driving up and down to the city.

“I can’t believe it,” Arran approached with a bottle of champagne, “You guys did it.”

Haneul peeled off her medical suit and collapsed on the grass. “I’m gonna need my own bottle.”

“You mean this one?” Arran revealed the second bottle.

September noticed that she was in high spirits. Almost giddy.

They stood back to inspect their handiwork, Arran distributed the champagne in white plastic cups she found in the kitchen. “Someone should say something.”

“Let’s all say something,” Sung-kyung said, “I’ll start.” She stared at the grave, bent to pat a piece of stray grass into place. “Here lies one bastard who didn’t bring any light to the world. In fact, he took one of the brightest lights, but I believe…” she held out her hand to Arran and she took it, “That the light can shine again.” She let Arran go, “So I hope bugs eat your corpse and you literally rot you crazy bastard,” she raised her cup in the air.

Haneul looked from left to right, “I know Arran from school, and I used to see unnie around, but we were never close. And I don't even know what you are Isa. Whew, you're like a warrior, a crazy beautiful warrior..." September blushed, "Um where was I? I know this is a really bad situation but I’m glad I was here with you guys. I want to be there for you guys. Arran I’m sorry for what you went through. You hid it so well.” Arran grimaced, “You’re the bravest person I know and yes, we’ve just illegally buried a guy, but he deserved it and I’ll never tell anyone.”
“Not even Jung Kyungsoo?” Arran teased.

“Yeah what if he goes boo and you spill the beans,” Sung-kyung added on but slung an arm around Haneul's shoulders.

“To us,” Haneul raised her glass, “The guys are great, but the girls slay every day.”

“Aww.” Arran and Sung-kyung cooed and squeezed Haneul between them.
