“Urgh! I really can’t keep up with you guys.” Arran complained and stamped her Gucci pumps, “Oppa why did you bring me here?”

Kris placed a slice of pizza on her plate, “Come on. We used to come here all the time when we started dating.”

Arran couldn’t stop the slow smile, “I can appreciate you trying to romance me.”

“So, what do you mean you can’t keep up?”

Arran took a bite of the pizza. It was divine. Probably cause this was the place of their first official date, “My brothers are driving me crazy for starters. When Kai and Sehun fight it’s like everyone has to walk on eggshells and choose sides.”

“Quickly, whose side are you on?”

“I…”

“Don’t think about it…1, 2…”

“Sehunah!” Arran blurted and then covered with both hands. Kris laughed happily at getting her to admit something she probably should never say out loud. “Oh God. If Kai heard me. Promise not to say anything!” then she eyed him speculatively, “You’ve been avoiding me. I had to beg to have lunch today. What’s going on? Are you breaking up with me at a pizza place?” she scrunched up her nose, “If you dare…I am Lee Arran." She pulled on his tie, “If we don't spend time together people will start asking questions.”

Kris hesitated. He’d kept Arran at arm’s length cause of Sung-kyung. But now they had permission to involve Arran and Minah in their plans. 

“Why can't we go back to your place? We can watch a movie." Arran raised a suspicious brow, “Are you hiding a woman in the attic?” Kris blanched and Arran yanked hard of his tie.

“No, nothing like that. Don’t give me those eyes,” He dropped some notes on the table, “Let’s get out of here and I’ll show you.”

Arran had to admit that she was curious. He’d been hot and cold for the past week. It would have been worrying if she hadn't been dealing with this whole Kai getting married drama. 

They left the restaurant and Arran got into his waiting town car. As Kris was about to step in after her, he saw something that made him do a double-take. It was her though. There was no mistaking Jung Minah. The couple were laughing at something as they walked down the street, pausing to admire something in the window of a shop. Minah laughed. The man turned and he was not Chen.

“Pali!” Arran leaned her head out the car and grabbed his hand. Kris ducked in. His heart was racing. What had he just seen?

Sung-kyung was busy setting up her at-home studio, well in Kris’s house when Arran walked into the room.

“I love what you’ve done with the place,” she drawled and walked around the room. It had once been Woo Minjae’s study and even though it had been remodelled and furnished, Kris refused to use his father's old study.

“Lee Arran…” Sung-kyung followed the other woman with her eyes. This was Jongin’s sister. They had once been school mates. Arran had been nice to her but now…Sung-kyung wasn’t sure what this sophisticated career woman thought of her.

“You come back to Seoul without telling anyone. Shouldn’t surprise me considering you left the same way.” Arran was drawing in closer with each round she made of the room, like a shark, Sung-kyung couldn’t help thinking. “Why did you come here?”

“I heard about your brother’s engagement…” she stammered.

Arran shrugged, “You think you can do something about it?”

“I know he doesn’t love Lilly Kim…”
“Because you believe he loves you?” Arran threw her head back and laughed. Sung-kyung winced.

“I don’t…”

“Unnie!” Arran stamped her foot, “Of course he loves you!” Sung-kyung blinked. Arran was smiling at her. Gone was the hostility. “Is it too much to ask for a hug?” Arran opened her arms, "We were friends after all."
