Hoseok, Gaelin and Yoongi could pretty much guess why Soo-hyuk asked to meet. He was going to tell them his intention to call for the next Golden Quill Competition. 

“I’ve already spoken to the judges,” he told them after they’d finished dinner. 

“When was this?” Yoongi spoke first. 

“Last week…” Soo-hyuk waved aside the question, “The envelopes should go out soon. It’s up to the Judges but I’ve stipulated that a new leader needs to be appointed before the end of the year.” 

“It’s cutting your Presidency by 6 years.” Ho-seok pointed out what Soo-hyuk was well aware of. “Are we certain this is the right time?” he looked around the table. 

“It’s true.” Gaelin said quietly, “There is a lot going on. What about Yifan? He’s not even here and Baek is struggling at the moment.” 

“They will be fine. All they have to do is be there…” Soo-hyuk began and saw their faces stiffen. He placed a hand softly on the table, “I know we’re on the same page here. We raised the kids according to specific roles. Now that Taemin is involved, we must stick to the original plan. Everyone must band together to secure Kai as the next President of the Golden Quill. It is his destiny.”
