Sehun pushed back the vines and stood under the ancient willow. There was no one here. He ce, breathed in the misty air and left.

Behind the massive tree trunk, September and Arran held onto each other, hoping for the best. Both breathed heavily. The champagne bottles lay on the ground at their feet. The oil lamp snuffed out. It was dark and wet. Arran raised her eyes to Septembers.

September wrapped her jacket around Arran’s shoulders and started to button her shirt. She pulled her hair into a pony.

Arran shivered and turned, showing September her back.

“You go first.” September instructed, “Say you were on a walk. That you needed to cool off after everything. I’ll sneak into my room…”

“You don’t have to teach me how to lie House Master. I have been lying my whole life.”

September placed a hand on Arran’s shoulder. Arran turned to face her, “Here,” she handed back the jacket, “It will be suspicious otherwise,”

September slipped on the jacket and straightened, “Go on then,”

Arran ran her hands quickly through her messed up hair and walked through the branches. September caught her arm and swung her round, kissing her softly, “Thank you,” they touched foreheads.

Arran caught her lapels and tugged on them, “Ditto.” She smiled softly before disappearing through the vines.

September snuck into her room, she could hear Arran and the Director voice’s drifting up from the lounge. Quickly, she had a shower, redressed her wound, changed into black slacks and a polo neck to hide where Arran had bit her neck and went downstairs.

“I’m sorry,” she bowed, “I needed some time.”

Sehun didn’t speak only beckoned for her to come closer. September exchanged a look with Arran and then walked slowly forward. Sehun gave no warning when he lifted September’s top and inspected the bandage.

“Sehun!” Arran scolded her brother.

“Shut up,” Sehun ordered and gently peeled back the bandage to inspect the wound, “It’s stopped bleeding,” he raised unreadable eyes to his House Masters, “Besides this,” he replaced the bandage, “Did anything else happen between you and Zhang Yifeng?”

“No Director,”

“Nothing?” Sehun was unconvinced.

“Nothing Director,”

Sehun lowered her top, “Good. Then you may retire for the night. You too.” He told Arran, “We will talk more in the morning. You both did well.” He stood.

“Where are you going?” Arran asked.

“To No 72. Don’t wait up.”

September felt her insides coil at the mention of No 72. How could the Director go there tonight of all nights? After everything that happened…, “Director, I really must insist that you remain home.”

Sehun laughed, “It’s been a long day. I need some RnR.”
