Senseless killing is just a waste of time and energy. If you must kill, there must be a purpose and a very good reason.

That was one of the lessons Hyesun kept telling Jaejoong when he was growing up. And it seemed the lesson had stuck. If Jaejoong wanted to, he could have easily killed all of the yentils wrapped around his body. The towel-like bodies of the yentils were freezing cold, but it wasn't enough to kill Jaejoong. Being wrapped like a mummy by the yentils also enabled him to sense something pulsing on one end of each yentil's body. Jaejoong wasn't sure if that was its heart or brain. But his instinct told him that destroying that pulsing organ could result to the yentil's immediate death.

If Jaejoong was an ordinary man, he would have died the moment his whole body was wrapped and frozen by the yentils. Cold and lack of air usually resulted to death. But cold could never kill Jaejoong. His body only reacted to magical heat and cold because only those could hurt him. Air wasn't really necessary for him to live. He was taught by the angels who brought him to the human world to simulate the act of breathing like humans as a baby. Now, breathing like humans had become automatic to him.

Boredom though might kill Jaejoong! He was already losing patience with the slow- moving yentils. It was taking them forever to bring him inside the cave. If he had known this would be the case, he would have rushed inside the cave before allowing the yentils to capture him.

His thoughts were interrupted by Tiffany's shouts from the ledge. The yuki-onna was urging him to fight. But fighting wasn't part of his plan. His plan was to get himself captured by the yentils, be brought to the part of the cave where they store their food and then find among the stored food which one was Nickhun. Demons who hunted for their food, no matter to what elements they belonged to, never immediately eat their prey especially when they had more food in storage. They simply prepared their newly acquired food for storage.

Being enclosed by the yentils, he could no longer see Tiffany and Dara. But he could still clearly hear Tiffany's shouts of frustration and anger to his apparent defeat. He couldn't help but wonder why Dara had remained quiet. Had she realized this was part of his plan or did this mean she believed in his capability to solve the situation? A stray thought pushed itself into his mind. Dara's silence could also mean that she didn't care at all to what would happen to him.

Such thought brought him sadness. He had always understood and known all throughout his life that no one really cared about him. Everyone simply wanted to use him for their own purpose. That seemed to be his destiny.

He quickly pushed away these sentiments and berated himself. He had always known about these facts. He had long accepted this and had decided to live his life not wanting or desiring things that he could never have!

Jaejoong concentrated on the task at hand. His eyes were covered by a yentil's body, but since its body was semi translucent, he was still able to detect light and shadows. The bright light of the sun was now gone and had been replaced by semi-darkness. The yentils had finally brought him inside their cave.

He noticed that it was much colder inside the cave. The slow crawl of the yentils finally ceased. A few seconds later, the yentils began unwrapping themselves from his body. Jaejoong discovered that he was now literally covered from head to foot by hard ice. The yentils had produced ice from their body to enclose him! He couldn't help but compare himself to the frozen cows and pigs stacked inside a large freezer.

The ice enclosing him was clear and transparent, enabling him to see everything around him even with the dim light. Though he never really needed light to see in the dark. He quickly surmised that this was the yentils' storage room since there were others frozen like him. The figures near him belonged to animals. There was a black bear and a deer. The presence of these animals puzzled him. These animals were not from this region. Their natural habitat was the forest. It was not logical for these animals to brave the cold mountains of Hokkaido and leave the warmth of their forest.

It was impossible for the yentils to have hunted these animals because the yentils would need to travel thousands of miles away from this valley. With their slow movement, these yentils would dry out or melt first before they could even reach the forests. The only answer Jaejoong could think of for the presence of such animals was that someone had brought these animals to the yentils.

He temporarily set aside this mystery and concentrated on finding Nickhun. If the man was not among these frozen delicacies, then he must already been eaten. He studied the ground. There were no bones. The yentils didn't seem to waste any part of their victims and ate everything.

Was he too late? If the yentils had indeed eaten Nickhun, then he shouldn't stay here any longer. He must inform Tiffany that his boyfriend had already been digested... Okay, that's not the proper words to use to a grieving woman. But even if he would use consoling words, Tiffany would still cry buckets and buckets of small ice cubes. Telling her to get over Nickhun or find another man wouldn't help at all! Maybe he should worry about Tiffany after he had gotten out of his frozen cage?

The image of his father, Prince Won Bin, appeared in his mind. He had never met or seen any pictures of his parents. But ever since he was a child, their images always appeared in his mind. And he instinctively knew they were his parents. Right now, the image of his father, being encircled by demon fire appeared in his mind. His father was a powerful fire demon and could summon fire at will.

Jaejoong began concentrating. He focused his strength in the middle of his body. He needed fire. A demon fire. He tried to summon the power of fire he should have inherited from his father. That power should be hidden inside him. Though he wasn't sure if it would be as powerful as his father's. Both his guardians had assured him that because of his uniqueness, he might be able to use both the powers of an angel and a demon. But it would take time before these powers would manifest themselves.

All the powers he had right now were either uniquely his own, like the power of illusion or normal to any angel or demon like that of strength, speed and fast healing.

He could use his strength to break the ice around him, but he this would also be a good time to check if he did inherit the demon fire from his father.

He felt a spark in his chest. A spark that began to produce heat. He willed that heat to flow to every part of his body, turning himself into a burning coal. If he could just make this coal burst into flame...

He heard a crack. It was the ice covering him. The heat his body was emitting wasn't enough to explode the ice. It could only create cracks. He was disappointed since he was expecting a powerful burst of demon fire from his body shattering the ice into pieces. It appeared he didn't posses the same powers as his father, Prince Won Bin.

Pieces from the cracked ice began to drop to the cave floor. Jaejoong moved his arms and legs to speed up the breaking of the ice. Soon his icy prison was just a mound of cracked ice all around him. He walked away from the storage room.

"Useless demon fire!" he muttered.

He didn't have time to feel sorry for himself because of his pathetic demon fire as several dozens of yentils were already crawling toward him. It was useless to talk to these demons since they never listened to him. They were probably deaf, anyway.

The talons from his fingers appeared. The first yentil who would try to encase him again with its body would meet a different fate this time. As expected, the nearest yentil launched itself toward him. He met this with his taloned fingers, targeting the part of its body where he had discovered a pulse a while ago. He quickly ripped apart the pulsing part
