Standing from a high cliff, Jaejoong gazed at the vast expanse of forest around him. The air was fresh and cool, and everything was allowed to grow in wild abandon and according to their own nature.

If the information Jaejoong read from all the books and websites were true, forests like these were the perfect abode for pixies and other magical creatures. Pristine forests usually served as home to several kinds of magical creatures because man had not yet polluted it.

He never planned to come here. He just found himself amidst the lush green of this forest while flying around and thinking of his future. He wasn't even sure as to what part of the world he was in. He couldn't help but wonder if he unconsciously sought out a place like this. Did he want to become part of those whimsical and independent magical creatures? They were a race slowly dying and soon would become extinct. The pollution created by man's industrialization and technology was killing the magical creatures whose existence was always synonymous with nature. As nature dies, these creatures would also die with her.

Someone like him would never be welcomed by these creatures. He's a half-demon and a half-angel. He belonged to both races that don't exactly foster trust and friendship among the magical creatures. Jaejoong silently laughed at his whimsical thoughts.

The best place for him was with the humans. He could easily pass himself off as one of them. But in order to live among humans, he must get himself a job. He did finish high school, and he was good with languages. He could get a job in call centers... He frowned, a lot of patience was needed in those jobs and he couldn't imagine being shouted at, reprimanded and belittled by angry costumers for several hours. Though that would be quite the same experience as his apprenticeship with Lightside. He scratched out that idea.

He was strong. He could do construction jobs. He could work twenty-four-seven without needing rest as long as he eats. Lightside Inc. gave a spell to all of its employees enabling them to survive without the need for food. But Midnight Corp. never used such spell because the Dark Council believed that one must savor and appreciate good and delicious food which was provided for free in all the restaurants found in every Midnight Corp. building. Midnight even had a department that specialized in the art of cooking. Part of its function was to make sure that the best food would always be available to any Midnight employee once they entered any building and office belonging to the corporation. There was even a rumor that those great chefs in reality TV shows in the human world were trained by Midnight food experts since most of them were foul mouthed.

Jaejoong was suddenly alerted by a sound above him. The sound was similar to those made by flapping wings. He looked up and saw a white bird flying toward a tree near him. He wasn't sure if the bird was a dove. Lightside often used doves as messengers.

Had Lightside found out he had chosen Midnight? Was this dove sent to make him change his mind? His choice wouldn't be made official until he had become twenty-two and Junki would keep it a secret until the proper time came. Though most angels used these birds to send messages to friends and acquaintances, Jaejoong highly doubted someone from Lightside would send him a personal message. Whatever friendship or acquaintances he gained during his apprenticeship in Lightside had been severed since he became part of Midnight.

It was forbidden to patronize with employees from their rival corporation. Lightside employees religiously followed this unwritten rule. Midnight employees on the other hand often bent this rule simply to irritate their counterparts. Animosity among the employees of the two corporations was prevalent.

Jaejoong watched as the bird perched itself on one of the branches of the tree. It became clear to him that the bird was not a dove but a pigeon! So, Lightside had not sent him any messenger. He continued to study the pigeon. Its body was all white with the exception of a grey left wing. Then he saw its weird-looking feet. Instead of the usual claws, a white round wheel similar in size to a billiard ball had replaced the pigeon's feet!

At first glance, one would think that the bird was sitting on a large egg but looking at it closely, Jaejoong could see that the ball was definitely attached to the bird's body.

Jaejoong had seen a lot of birds in his lifetime, but this had to be the strangest bird in the world!

The strangeness and weirdness continued as the bird began to merge with the wheel part of its body until it became a disk, the size of a basketball. The disk then began spinning and glowing.

" Jaejoong?" said a lilting voice coming from the disk.

"Yeah?" he answered tentatively.

The disk began jumping up and down on the branch while still spinning! Did it become excited or was it just part of its normal behavior?

"Finally!" it yelled. "I found you! I should get some points for this!"

Jaejoong continued staring at the strange creature.

"Who are you? And what are you?"

"Sorry, I am Yabu," it introduced itself. It also stopped spinning.

"Yabu?"

"I am a Finder. I find things."

"A homing pigeon?" he couldn't help but teased the creature.

"I am not a pigeon!" The tone of its voice was clearly offended. "And for your information, I only assumed the shape of a pigeon because I don't want stupid humans who would see me flying assume that I am a UFO. Some friends of mine decided to fly around without disguising their true shapes and they got photographed! Their pictures were posted all over the internet and labeled as UFOs. But that wasn't the worst part, they were also caught by video and that video was posted in YouTube. They became YouTube sensations and were known all over the world as aliens! Until now, they are being laughed at by everyone and getting teased as aliens."

"You know about YouTube?" Jaejoong wasn't expecting this from a spinning disk.

"Ofcourse! Tablets and laptops are cheap nowadays. And it’s easy to connect to the internet by using a spell. We like to browse the internet for all kinds of news, videos and information. We need to be updated specially on all the changes and destructions humans do to the environment. Such information helps us remain hidden and safe."

"We? Who the hell are you? And why are you looking for me?"
