Ever since Shuhua can remember, she's loved books. Her family wasn't the biggest fan of kids spending their free time in front of the TV, they were an immigrant family and preferred that the girls spend their free time reading to familiarize themselves with Korean grammar.

Shuhua adjusted herself in the armchair in her room and looked on her shelf for something to read, she smiled as soon as she found one of her favorite books, a worn out copy of Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennet was one of her favorite characters, she refused to succumb to societal pressures and insisted on following her heart, even when it means defying convention and risking her own reputation. Shuhua also love how the Bennet sisters’s stories all coincide to create very real problems. Each of them, being different ages and of different social standing in the family, had different outlooks on the world, marriage and family, just like Shuhua and her own sisters.

Shuhua flipped through the pages of her book, rereading her favorite parts. When Shuhua was a teen she imagined marrying some sort of Mr. Darcy, tall, rich and handsome. Shuhua used to be the type of girl to live through the lives of book characters, and in that way, keeping a safe distance from the whirlwinds of emotions and sensations that come with adolescence, especially the way some girls made her feel. But she couldn´t remain a passive observer forever, especially after she entered university and met all kinds of people, Shuhua realized that she had spent so much time thinking she wanted a Mr. Darcy, when in reality she wanted an Elizabeth

Over the five months they’ve been a couple, Soojin has noticed that when she doesn’t find Shuhua fixated on her phone or poring over paperwork she would be immersed in a book

Shuhua couldn’t get over how gorgeous Soojin looked, her smile was charming and she looked amazing, even wearing a jersey and some sweatpants
