Old friends II
Sugar coatedTo say that Soojin's first days living with Shuhua were easy would be a lie, she was so insecure, Soojin felt the need to check all the time that it was okay for Shuhua they were there, she even fought with Soobin not to make any noise even when Shuhua didn't care. At first they didn't talk much about what happened but Shuhua could hear the frequent cries coming from the next room so she suggested that Soojin see a therapist
-Therapy is expensive, first I have to get a job
-I don't mind paying
Soojin widened her eyes
-No, you're already doing too much for us, I would feel really bad
Shuhua held her hand
-Jin ah, let me help you
Soojin's eyes filled with tears.
-I feel so... useless and stupid
-Jin ah, healing from an abusive relationship can be a long process, I will be by your side supporting you in everything but I think you need professional help
-But what about Soobin? I can't take him to these sessions
-We can organize ourselves, if it's the afternoon I'll take care of him while you go to therapy
-You already have your classes to assemble, assignments to correct
-I can take care of him, he and I get along great
Soojin still looked unsure
-Are you sure?
-Yeah, don´t worry about it
And that's how Soojin started to attend Dr Choi's office, at first she had a hard time talking to her about Yonsuk but little by little she felt more comfortable with the therapist
-There isn’t a manual to walk you through the recovery process Soojin ssi
Soojin wiped the tears that streamed down her face.
-I know...
-It’s going to take some time for you to get here, and that time will not always be easy and that’s okay
-I know I stopped loving him a long time ago but why is it so hard?
-You are grieving the person and relationship you wished you had but didn’t
-Yeah
-But in time you will heal, and how is your job search going?
Soojin had a big smile
-I found a small school to teach children, I used to teach dance classes for adults but this is a start
-That's good to hear, and how is your relationship with Shuhua?
-She has been my great support, she takes care of me and Soobin, you need to see the two of them drawing together, it's the cutest thing
The therapist just broke into a big smile as she jotted something down in her notebook.

It had been six months since that night when Soojin and Soobin arrived in Daegu, they’d quickly fallen into a steady routine, Soojin started teaching more classes so they decided to enroll Soobin in a day care center. Shuhua had a more flexible schedule in the afternoon so she was the one who picked up Soobin from daycare and stayed with him until Soojin got home, she had not expected Shuhua to be as good with him as she was, he became her sidekick, they watched cartoons together, Shuhua read books to him and when she needed to correct tests and papers he would play with his toys silently beside her. Shuhua had also become a frequent subject of Soojin's conversations with the therapist, Soojin was confused by how she felt about Shuhua, she was afraid she was mistaking gratitude for something else and ending up ruining the relationship they had.
-Well from what you told me you always had a strong bond
-My boyfriend at the time hated her for that very reason, he said that Shuhua loved me and wanted to steal me from him.
-And do you think she liked you?
-After all the bad relationships I've had I don't think I know what love really is or not
-Well, there's no such thing as a pure and simple definition of what love is, but I think you now know what love isn't, don't you?
-Yeah...
-Why don't you talk to Shuhua about it?
-What if she doesn't like me that way? What if I screw it up?
-The basis of any relationship, romantic or not, is conversation and trust. When you feel ready, talk to her about your feelings, you might be in for a surpris
