From the very first time that Soojin texted Shuhua they didn't stop talking anymore, the summer break ended and Soojin went back to her routine of training and university classes but they kept talking to each other regularly. To Soojin's surprise they were the same age and Shuhua was studying for a degree in history online and was an amateur writer who had already published some poems and books, Shuhua loved hearing Soojin's stories about training and her everyday life at the university, Soojin had noticed that she didn't have many friends besides her sisters and cousins.

As they grew closer, Shuhua started talking more about her family, Shuhua was the youngest of four sisters, her older sister Joohyun was the first to show symptoms when she was little, at first their parents thought it was just dermatitis but then their other sister JiSoo also started showing symptoms, there were weeks of tests, consultations with different doctors, at first they feared it was skin cancer because Mr Yeh's mother had died from it but after many examinations and tests on both of them they found that it wasn´t cancer or xeroderma pigmentosum (XP), they have solar urticaria, a rare allergic reaction to sun exposure that causes an itchy rash or hives that appear on any skin that has been exposed to the sun but in rare cases solar urticaria can lead to anaphylaxis  so they always carried an Epipen with them.

After a lot of talking between them, Shuhua's parents had decided that the girls would be homeschooled including Yuqi, who showed no symptoms of the allergy but was too small for them to risk. It was in this environment that Shuhua was born, at first her parents thought she wouldn't be allergic like Yuqi but one day the two girls decided to run away from home because there were too many rules and prohibitions, it was a very hot day and the two had run away from home without any protection, Yuqi showed no symptoms but it didn't take long for Shuhua's skin to be red, itchy and full of blisters and hives on the sun-exposed portions of her body and she ended up passing out, it was a terrible day for everyone and since then Shuhua started phototherapy and other treatments along with her sisters.

-I can't imagine spend the rest of my life without enjoying summer and sunshine.

Shuhua gave her a bittersweet smile

-It´s probably wonderful but I'd rather not feel pain

-I'm sorry if I was insensitive

-It's okay, even though it was the worst day of my life I can still remember the feeling of freedom, the sun hitting my face and the joy I felt running through the streets

-Does that mean you've never been to the beach?

-We travel, not as often as other people, but we do, usually in winter when the incidence of sunlight is lower, my parents always made sure that Yuqi's life was not so affected by our allergy, they even suggested that she attend a normal school but she preferred to study at home with us, when she turned 10 we went to the beach, my parents and Yuqi enjoyed the day at the beach while we stayed at the hotel, then at night we all went together

-Wow, there's a whole preparation

-Our trips are just like the Cullens, we prefer places with the fewest daylight hours, that's why Joohyun is living in London with her wife and JiSoo went to college in Seattle, that's where she met Jennie

-And Yuqi, where is she?

-She is doing an internship on a wildlife sanctuary in Africa

-Wow this is so cool

-She's always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian and had an obsession with giraffes... and what made you decide to study administration?

-Well my family has a convenience store and I always helped my parents take care of it, I always liked to play baseball and when I got the scholarship I decided to study something I knew.

As their friendship grew stronger and their relationship began to evolve Soojin realized that there was something else between them but she feared that a relationship would not work out between them, she was too busy with baseball training and classes and Shuhua lived in another city and had an extreme limitation of locomotion, it would all end in disaster so it was better to remain friends. She managed to keep her crush on Shuhua a secret, they kept talking on the phone but Soojin started hanging out more with her friends, she went to parties, drank, she hooked up with some boys and girls but Shuhua was still in the back of her mind, her adorable smile, her smell of peaches and sunscreen, the long conversations they had about series, movies and books, the cute way she talked and the almost childlike curiosity she got when Soojin told her about her trips to the tournaments, it took a while but Soojin realized that her feelings for Shuhua only increased, she never thought she would do long distance with anyone but Shuhua was worth, she just didn't know if Shuhua liked her too

-Hello?

-Who are you?

Soojin looked confused at the cat-eyed woman on her cell phone screen, had she called wrong?

-I´m Seo Soojin, I think I called wrong

The woman narrowed her eyes for a moment and then widened them.

-Shuhua's Soojin?

-Yeah?

-CHUUUUU COME HERE COME HERE

Soojin heard movement and suddenly a woman who vaguely resembled Shuhua appeared on the screen along with the other.

-IT´S SOOJIN

-Wow she is real?

-I told you Shuhua wasn't making it up

-You know how Piggy is

-Excuse me

The two women turned their attention to the screen.

-I'm Bae JiSoo, Shuhua's sister and this is my girlfriend Jennie

-I heard a lot about you two

JiSoo opened a huge smile

-We heard a lot about you too but I thought you were a imaginary frienOUCH Jendeukie why did you elbow me?

-She'll think Piggy is crazy

-Piggy?

-Shuhua, that's her nickname since she was little

-And why did you think I wasn't real?

The two looked at each other embarrassed.

-Shuhua has no friends, she has us and our cousins...

-That's why we were surprised when she started talking about you

-She has always had a huge imagination, she has been writing stories since she was little, she inherited it from our appa

Jennie cracked a smile

-You talk like you're not like them either, I don't know if Shuhua told you but JiSoo is also a writer, her specialty is detective novels

Jennie said with a twinkle in her eyes and JiSoo turned extremely red

-Do you also use your mother's family name?

-No, I use Kim, like Jennie

JiSoo said while placing a kiss on Jennie's cheek

-WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY PHONE?!

Shuhua appeared with wet hair and wearing a robe

-We were talking to your Soojin

-Soojin?!

Shuhua immediately took the cell phone from Jennie's hand.

-What did these crazy ladies said to you?

-HEY

Soojin chucked

-We were just talking

-I was going to invite Soojin to have dinner with us

Shuhua widened her eyes

-What?

JiSoo appeared on the cell phone screen again

-Shuhua is too antisocial to invite you but you should come to dinner, Yuqi is coming home

Soojin turned her attention to Shuhua

-I dont know, I don't want to make Shuhua uncomfortable

All eyes turned to Shuhua

-Me? Uncomfortable? You would never make me uncomfortable Jin ah

Shuhua said with her face all red with embarrassment
