Need you now II
Sugar coatedLeaving Soojin was one of the hardest things she ever had to do, but she knew they needed some time apart to see things in a new perspective, the problems started with the smallest things in their mundane routine, small arguments over housework that became more and more frequent, she didn't know when exactly things had changed between them but they didn't talk anymore, their apartment wasn't a home anymore it was just a place for them to sleep, they both had demanding careers and ended up becoming roommates who barely saw each other and when they saw each other they ended up arguing. They never had time to cuddle up and watch movies together anymore or having dinner dates like they used to do, Shuhua knew Soojin wasn't happy either and so she decided that if Soojin didn't have the heart to end it, she would do it herself, she gathered up all her stuff and the dogs and when Soojin finally got home she found the empty apartment and a letter from Shuhua
For months Shuhua tried to convince herself that it was best for them, and in a way it was, she could focus on herself and what could she improve but Soojin's absence didn't seem to decrease, it seemed to increase, with each new conquest, with each good thing that happened to her, the desire to call Soojin and tell her what had happened didn't disappear, she missed the old Soojin, the Soojin she had fallen in love with, she missed the way things were between them and the love they had, should she have fought more for them? Was leaving the right choice? Did Soojin still miss her? There were so many IFs that Shuhua wasn't surprised when she found herself driving towards their old apartment, she missed Soojin and apparently she missed her too as her cell phone started ringing and Soojin's photo appeared on the screen
-Jin ah... I'm coming
Instead of answering the call Shuhua just accelerated the car, they needed to talk in person, she wanted to be face to face with Soojin and smell her wonderful vanilla scent. Shuhua parked in front of the building and called Soojin, she could feel her body tremble in anticipation, she got into the elevator and took a deep breath trying to calm down. When Soojin opened the door Shuhua was surprised by her appearance, she looked exhausted, more than Shuhua had even seen her, the bags under her eyes were dark and heavy, they looked puffy as if she had been crying and the smell of whiskey mixed with her perfume left Shuhua heartbroken
-Hey Shu… I called you earlier
-I know, I was driving so I didn't answer the call
-Were you in the neighborhood? I know you don't live around here anymore
-I was coming to talk to you....so can I come in?
-Sure
Soojin stepped aside allowing Shuhua inside before she closed the doors behind them
-Would you like something to drink?
-I think you already drank for both of us
-Shu...
-I'm sorry about that, can I sit down?
-Sure
Shuhua and Soojin sat on the sofa and were silent for a while
-So…how are things?
-Things are okay… I think I'm still teaching at Seoul university and you?
-Still working with Mr Kim, today it was even the demonstration of the new choreography I created
-Really? And did he like it?
-He loved it
-I'm glad to hear that
There was a short, tense silence and Soojin let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding in
-Are you seeing someone Shu?
-No, no one. I tried to move on but I couldn’t, you’re stuck in my brain Jin ah
-This must since you
