The kingdom of Neverland was partying, it was Queen Yuqi's birthday and Queen Soyeon had invited several kings and queens from the neighboring kingdoms to the party, Queen Yuqi was talking with a few of the ladies about the harvest season while Queen Soyeon argued with some kings about the conflict in the southern kingdoms, after dancing with some princes and princesses the heir to the throne, Soojin, finally sat down, being a very beautiful and single omega she attracted the attention of alphas who were at the party and one by one approached her asking to dance, as the future queen she should be as friendly as possible so she had to accept every one of the dance requests, she wore a beautiful red dress with golden details and her hair tied in a long braid

-Take the opportunity to eat a little princess, you barely touched your plate

Soojin smiled as she looked to the side, Yeh Shuhua, her personal Knight looked at her with concern, she was dressed in her knight's armor, the silver plate shining contrasting with her long black hair that this time was loose, they knew each other since they were kids, Shuhua  was an orphan and had been sent by her uncles to be trained to be  Knight, despite being small and delicate Shuhua had become a very skilled and fierce Knight and mostly dedicated to Princess Soojin, whom she had met on one of the few free afternoons she had , the little princess was playing alone under the shade of a tree when Shuhua found her, Shuhua carried her wooden sword and Soojin asked her to teach her how to fight, from that day on they became great friends, some of the queen's advisers didn't like their friendship mainly because Shuhua is an alpha and Soojin an omega but Queen Soyeon didn't care, she watched the two grow up together and was sure no one  would protect her daughter better than Shuhua.

-Princess, why so much formality?

-Princess, it's your mother's birthday

-And?

Shuhua looked at the crowded ballroom

-Some people here may think it's bad for a Knight to address a princess in such an intimate way

- It's weird when you call me that

Shuhua shrugged and Soojin sighed

-Fine, so tomorrow I won't read another chapter

-BUT JIN AH

Shuhua raised her voice and some guests looked at them and Shuhua returned to her original position but Soojin could see she was pouting

- You know I love our afternoon tea with stories

Soojin pretended not to hear and Shuhua turned her attention to the hall.

- You're even cuter when you get all hot and bothered like that

Soojin comments quietly, not noticing that Queen Soyeon was watching their interaction

Soojin was waiting for Shuhua sitting in a chair, the knight was training some soldiers and Soojin couldn't help but admire Shuhua's body as she fought, the dexterity she wielded the sword, her quick movements as she fending off blows with her blade, even after fighting with soldiers bigger than her Shuhua was unharmed, the knight said goodbye to the soldiers and approached the princess

-Princess

Soojin rolled her eyes

-Let's duel?

-Of course

Soojin put her armor, she refused to be a helpless omega princess and trained with Shuhua whenever she could, soon they were dueling, raising her sword to block Shuhua's swing

-The soldiers tired you out Shuhua? Are you getting weak?

Shuhua just smiled at her and advanced on her quickly, some soldiers watched them with curiosity, despite the fragile appearance of the princess she was able to duel on equal terms with Shuhua

-Do you surrender princess?

-Never

They dueled for a few more moments and through a carelessness of Shuhua Soojin ended up disarming her and dropping her to the ground, Soojin smiled satisfied while Shuhua looked at her with a mixture of admiration and something else that Soojin could not identify but left her body warm

-I win

-Only because I let you

-You wish

Soojin offered her hand to the knight who reluctantly let herself be pulled up

-Best luck next time Shu

Troubles in the southern kingdoms increased and the queens had to interfere, Soojin knew it was inevitable, she just didn't expect Shuhua to have to go too

-Jin ah, you know I have to go

-But you are my personal knight, you should stay and protect me

-And that's what I'm going to do, your mothers want conflicts to end before they become uncontrollable and reach our realm

Soojin just hugged her

-Promise you'll come back to me

-Jin ah...

-Promise Shu

-I promise I will do everything to get back to you

They looked at each other and Soojin leaned in just enough for their lips to brush together, Shuhua though surprised by the act, deepened the kiss  as she brought her closer, when their lips finally parted she caressed Soojin's face

-I’ve wanted to do that for so long

Shuhua whispered

-Me too, Shu?

-Yes

-Sleep with me

-WHAT?

-Not in that sense, I just want you close to me

-Your mothers...

-No one will come in here, please Shu

-Okay, I'll just take off my armor

Soojin lay down on the bed while Shuhua took off her armor, the knight was a little shy but lay down next to her, Soojin approached her and wrapped her arms around her, curling in close

-Good night Shu
