Soojin and the reluctant Miyeon and Soyeon took off their vests and capes and addressed the three mermaids, Soojin approached blushing furiously and offered her vest to Shuhua who was looking at her confused.

- Are you okay?

-Yo you you are

Shuhua looked at the sisters and the three shrugged their shoulders

-What's the matter?

Soojin just shook her head, she was too embarrassed to look back at her

-You better put your clothes on, please

 The three mermaids dressed the pieces that were offered to them

-You look good with my cape

Miyeon looked Minnie up and down smiling and the mermaid just turned red

-What will we do now, captain?

-Well

And that's how they started to explore the island, they found a few planks of wood which could have come from the  ship that had sunk near the island, Shuhua and her sisters were still getting used to walking with their legs so they didn't walk fast, they searched for vines, lianas, leaves, tree branches, bamboo sticks anything that would serve as ropes, they picked fruit to eat, Yuqi and Shuhua offered to catch some fish to eat and Soojin and Soyeon made spears to catch fish too, they didn't want to depend on the mermaids for everything, while the shelter they were building wasn't ready they slept in the cave, it was a pleasant surprise to find that the mermaids could keep their legs as long as they didn't get them wet

-Why do you eat like that?

-What?

Shuhua pointed to the fish that was on fire

-You burn the fish, why? It’s so tasty

-We ate it raw too but it's much tastier

-It takes longer to eat

Soojin pulled the fish out of the flames and blowed to eat it

-Take a bite

- I dont know

-Come on Shu, just a piece

Shuhua looked at Soojin and the rest of the girls who looked at her curiously, she then bit off a piece of fish and chewed

-What do you think?

-It's not bad... but it tastes like wood

-I want to prove

Soyeon blew on her fish carefully and offered to Yuqi, the mermaid tasted the fish and smiled at her

They spent the rest of the night telling stories from their childhoods, while the pirates were orphans Shuhua and her sisters had a living father and older brother, Shuhua and Yuqi were daughters from his second marriage that´s why they didn't look like Minnie. When it got late they scattered around the bonfire sleeping next to each other with the fire still burning, Shuhua had slept beside Soojin and the captain had a pleasant surprise upon waking up with Shuhua tangled with her.

As the days went by they explored the island, they found mountains and waterfalls with lakes where they could drink clean water, they washed up in the lake and Soojin couldn't help but feel Shuhua's gaze under her, the mermaids obviously couldn't enter the lake without losing their legs and they had a lot to explore that day, they picked more fruit, stored clean water in empty coconuts and returned to the cave before sunset, while the others packed up in the cave  Shuhua and Soojin enjoyed watching the last moments of the sunset, they were tired but happy, Soojin laced their fingers together and Shuhua laid her head on Soojin's shoulder

-It's beautiful

-Yes it is

-Don't you miss being in the ocean?

-Don't you miss sailing?

- I asked first

Shuhua sighed

-I can go back to the ocean anytime I want, I don't miss the sea like I missed you

-Did you miss me?

-Yes, you didn't missed me?

-Yes, I spent hours staring at the sea waiting for you to show up

-And I approached all the ships that passed through our territory hoping it was you

Soojin and Shuhua looked at each other intensely, the captain could see in the mermaid's eyes the same yearning as hers.

-May I kiss you?

Shuhua smiled with a tinge of red on her cheeks

-Yes

Soojin  cupped her face and leaned in to kiss her, it was kind of weird at first since Shuhua didn't know what to do but soon she was copying Soojin's moves and she deepened the kiss as Soojin pulled her closer, they kissed until the air was necessary and when they broke the kiss Shuhua took her hand to her lips

-Wow

-That good?

-Amazing, can we do this more often?

- Whenever we want

Soojin gave Shuhua a quick peck

-It's getting cold, how about we join the girls?

-Of course

Soojin helped Shuhua up and they both walked back to the cave holding hands, when the rest of the girls noticed they were holding hands they smiled but Soojin could see that Minnie was frowning and looked like she wanted to say something but before she could say anything Miyeon pointed to her neck

-I always wanted to ask, where did you get that?

Minnie looked at her necklace confused

-This trinket?

Soyeon approached curious

-Can I take a look?

Minnie looked at her and took the necklace from her neck, Soyeon examined the necklace intently and her eyes widened

-THIS IS A DIAMOND

-WHAT?

Soojin and Miyeon looked at the necklace in surprise.

-Do you like shiny things like that?

- Shiny things?

-Are there any more of these?

-Of course, we used to play on ships at the bottom of the ocean when we were kids, we always find trinkets like this

-Wait, we found the wreckage of a ship on the beach, it must be close

-There is a ship near here, yes

The pirates looked at each other excitedly
