Chapter 8

It was hot.

It was so hot that for the first time in a long time, Seunghyun was walking around in a short sleeve shirt. After checking the weather for the day, Jiyong had forced his partner into packing a short sleeve shirt so that the taller man didn’t die of heatstroke.

Thankfully, Seunghyun listened. Whose bright idea was it to come to the amusement park on one of the hottest days of the year.

“Hyung, let’s just go to the next ride. This line is too long.”

Of course, it was Seungri’s bright idea. The idea itself was good. The members had been going nonstop since the tour so it was a good time to relax and have some fun with one another. Had they known the sun would be beating down relentlessly, however, Seunghyun would have stayed in the indoor pool of the hotel.

“Seungri, we’re already half way there. We might as well keep waiting.” Taeyang was excited, practically jumping in and out of his shoes. He loved rides just as much at Seunghyun did. The same couldn’t be said for the other members though. Daesung stayed quiet as they waited and Jiyong kept a firm grip on his water bottle. He was as nervous as he was excited. If he gripped it any tighter then it would burst.

“Do I really have to ride this? What if I ride the next one?” It was the first time Daesung spoke since they stood in line.

“If I have to stand in this line, you should to.” Seungri was bitter with the wait. He wasn’t that patient when it came to certain things.

Daesung sighed and hung his head in defeat. Seunghyun would have felt bad if he wasn’t stuck in the same situation.

He wanted this ride to be over as soon as possible. The faster they got on the ride the faster the rush of air would cool them off. They really should have gone to a water park instead. Seunghyun was determined to be the first one on the ride.

“Hyung, you want some of my water?” Jiyong sounded drained. The heat was starting to get to him too. Seunghyun wished he would have brought something else to drink, like Gatorade.

“I’m fine, drink the rest of that. Your face is turning red.”

Jiyong nodded at the order and did as told. It really was too hot to be at an amusement park.

30 minutes passed and the groups was finally near the front of the line. Thankfully some of the members would be getting on. Seunghyun knew he would get the first seat and he hoped Jiyong would get on with him. It was too hot and they were both tired, not that the others weren’t tired, it’s just that they weren’t as important to Seunghyun and Jiyong was. He loved Jiyong on another level.

“We’re up next!” Taeyang shouted as he moved on the ride. He took his seat and Seunghyun moved to sit next to him. Daesung was forced to sit on his other side. If he didn’t get on the first ride he would probably not get on the next one either.

Seunghyun watched as the worker tightened Taeyang strap and noticed that Jiyong and Seungri would have to wait for the next ride. He didn’t like it, not one bit. Jiyong looked like he was about to pas out with the heat. He stopped the worker before he was able to strap him in completely.

“Hold on,” Seunghyun said as he got out of his seat. Jiyong looked surprised as Seunghyun walked to him. “Take my seat.”

“Hyung, I’m fine. "

“No, take my seat. After the ride go sit in some shade and get something cold to drink.”

Jiyong felt his cheeks stain pink at the order and Seunghyun pushed him in the direction of his previous seat. Seunghyun was used to sweating, he always kept his skin covered. Jiyong was not.

The two remaining members watched as Daesung screamed as the ride started. Taeyang’s smile grew wider as the vocalist grabbed his hand and Jiyong laughed along the way. It was the first time Seunghyun had seen the dragon laugh since they entered the park.

Giving up his seat was worth it.
