“Chewy gusto mo mag karaoke?” Tanong sakin ni Lisa. “Ang random mo.” Sabi ko naman ng natatawa. “Wala lang parang feel ko lang kumanta. Tara?” Pag aya niya sakin. “Saan? Sa Turtles?” Tanong ko. “Oo, ansarap ng cheesestick dun.” Sabi niya naman. “May karaoke naman dito bat lalayo pa tayo?” Tanong ko ulit.

“Kasi may private rooms don saka madilim tapos may pa-ilaw, tapos pwede uminom.” Sabi mo naman. “Eh mag dadrive kapa pabalik ng dorm.” Sabi ko naman. “Pag nalasing ako, ikaw nalang mag drive. Marunong ka naman diba?” Tanong niya naman. “Pleaase, sige na?” Pag pilit niya sakin.

“Fine.” Sagot ko naman and then she smiled. She gave me that million dollar smile of hers and it floors me every time. “Thank you.” Sagot mo sakin and with that, we went on our way papuntang turtles. Hindi ko talaga hilig ang ganitong mga scenes, madalas kasi, talagang nasa bahay lang ako.

When we arrived at turtles, agad naman kaming inassist nung staff sa place and it was obvious that the guy staff was checking Lisa out. Little did he know though…

We sat there while we wait for everything to be set up, and I think I’ll end up driving Lisa’s car later dahil mukhang mag a-all out drinking tong kasama ko. I can’t stop her from doing what she wants obviously. I didn’t want to seem controlling and KJ plus, I think kailangan niya din yun after today.

When the staff finally left us, she and I looked at each other and then laughed. “Type ka ni kuya staff.” Sabi ko naman. “baliw ka.” sagot mo. “kanta na tayo, huy di ko pa pala naririnig boses mo. Ikaw muna pala kumanta hehe” Sabi mo sabay abot sa akin ng song book.

“I thought you want to sing?” I asked. “Oo nga, but I also came here for the alcohol and cheese sticks.” Sabi mo while you were chuckling. “Anong gusto mong kanta?” I asked her. “anything, dali, want to hear your voice!” She said excitingly and then she cheered for me. I couldn’t say no.

I browsed for songs na alam kong kantahin but at the same time, I felt nervous, never in my life have I sang in front or with anyone. Siguro the only place I would sing eh sa banyo while I’m showering but other than that, I’ve never done any of these.

“Ikaw nalang pumili ng song, kakantahin ko.” Sabi ko nalang. I can’t choose. I gave her the song book and she browsed through it. “Till my heartaches end nalang.” Sabi niya and then keyed the code in for the song to start playing. “You’re lucky. You’re the first person to hear me sing. Prepare for my golden voice.” I said habang tumatawa.

Just in time, the server knocked sa room namin to deliver the food and alcohol Lisa ordered. I just started to sing and didn’t mind them. Ng makaalis na si kuya staff, Lisa sat back sa tabi ko and looked at me habang kumakanta. “Wag ko kong tignan. Na didistract ako.” Sabi ko naman in between singing and she laughed.

She grabbed another mic though and sang with me and I started to loosen up nadin. Both of us started to have fun na after nun. We took turns sa singing. But I kept in mind na hindi ako pwedeng uminom ng marami
