To see him, that’s why. Her dreams had been filled with images of Kai. Their secret moments, even times when he had bullied her, all those memories now precious had invaded her dreams.
“Hi!” Kai stood in front of her. Sung-kyung hadn’t noticed him approaching. He stood a little distance from her and just stared. Damn, he looked so good. It was like everything grew lighter and warmer. He smiled, “You’re here.”
“I said I’d come,” Sung-kyung muttered, “It would have been rude not to.”
“Is that the only reason you came?” Kai masked his disappointment.
“I also wanted to see the others.” She lied. “Are they inside.”
“Mmm,” Kai nodded, “Kyungsoo and Chanyeol are barbecuing and the others are making a mess in the kitchen trying to make some side dishes.”
“Sounds like fun.” Sung-kyung shifted, “Should we go in?”
“Not yet,” Kai slowly closed the distance between them, “Are you at least happy to see me?”
“Lee Jongin…”
“Kai…” he asserted, “The people I’m closes to call me Kai.”
“Are we still close?”
“I’d like to be even closer.” He reached out but she quickly sidestepped him. “What is it?” he sounded angry more than hurt. “Have you really moved on?”
“It’s not like we were dating or anything.”
“So what?” Kai growled, “Since when did we need labels?” he reached for her again but she shook her head. “I don’t understand. Why did you come here if you were going to be like this?”
