Soo-hyuk sat in his study and stared out the window, the day seemed so long. Dragging on and on. He wanted nothing more than to crawl into bed and sleep the day away. But no one would let him. Namjoon continued to come in with drafts of the statement.

“Arran is in bed and resting.” Tanaka entered with a cup of tea, “I have taken her a tray in bed.”

“Good,” Soo-hyuk said but he didn’t really hear what Tanaka said.
“Your parents and sister are on the way.”

“Good.”

“Lunch will be a big affair. I’m sorry for it but all the Estates want to show their support. I have had to open the ballroom for the luncheon.”

“Must they?” Soo-hyuk asked and blinked at the menu that Tanaka set before him, "The ballroom is only used for celebratory occasions." 

“Normally the President would deal with this sort of thing but…” he trailed off, “You know what. Let me handle all menus and household decisions with the House Master.”

“It's not your fault. You can open the ballroom if you need to.”

“No I was foolish.” Tanaka tried to take the menu away but Soo-hyuk lifted it up.

“She really did a lot.” Soo-hyuk picked up his pen and signed the menu off, “I’m sure she’d approve.”

“I will start to train Arran ssi as soon as she is up to it.”

“Strange to think that my teenage daughter will be in charge of this entire household.”

“I am sure she will make her mother and everyone else proud.” Tanaka hesitated, “Will you be changing for lunch? I can have a new suit pressed for you.”

“No. I don’t see the point.” Soo-hyuk turned back to stare out of the window, “Please let me know when I am needed.”

“As you wish President Lee.” Tanaka bowed and left the study.

“How is appa?” Baekhyun asked.

“He is putting up a brave front. How are you?”

“I’m alive,” Baekhyun said and looked lost.

“Where is Kai?”

“He went to see Lee Sung-kyung off. She is leaving to meet her parents.”

“A pity she doesn’t want our assistance.” Tanaka walked into the kitchen and handed the approved menu to the chef.

“Well do you blame her?” Baekhyun sat at the counter.

“Baekhyunie do you want a snack?” The chef asked, “I can make your favourite if you want.”

“I’m not hungry.” Baekhyun said, “I will just wait for lunch but do you mind if I sit here? I like the noise.”

Tanaka nodded and went into his office adjoining the kitchen. This was harder by the second. At least the other kids had their distractions but Baekhyun looked scared and alone. He messaged Namjoon and a moment later the HM came into the kitchen.

“Oh Baekhyunah, just the guy I was looking for.”

“Me?” Baekhyun sat up.

“I was wondering if you could help me?” Namjoon asked

“With what hyung?” Baekhyun had a hopeful look on his face.

“I’m afraid everything. Paperwork and such…and now the ballroom needs to be opened as well...”
