The meeting was to take place at the Woo Estate in a couple of hours. This time only the Presidents and heirs would be in attendance.

The Madame stood in her room and inspected her closet. Tonight was all about her and she intended to dress the part. Kris had been forced to order a range of outfits because she wanted options. In his room, Kris looked in the mirror and tried to neaten his tie. “Here let me.” Tao helped him out and then used a brush to sweep any dust off the coat. “You’re ready.”

“Am I?” Kris grimaced. “What if they see right through me and decide I’m a traitor after all?”

“Just stick to the plan and trust in your new family. If they really care for you then they will stand by you and help you through this.”

Kris wished he could believe Tao, but he was still an outsider. The Consortium might decide to throw out the Woo Estate for good and then he’d be left with nothing.
