Forty Five
Blue Blossom“Yah!” Leo was violently woken up as his manager kicked his legs. “Wake up.” His manager angrily called out. The others in the room had woken up before Leo and were watching as their manager kicked Leo’s legs.
“What’s going on hyung?” Leo sat up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes.
“Are you dating Suyun?” He asked and all of the boys began to panic.
“What are you even saying hyung?” Leo tried to lay back down to sleep again but his manager angrily reached down for grabbed him by his shirt.
“Hyung!” N called out, afraid that the manager would hurt Leo who was casually trying to brush him off. Their manager shoved his phone in Leo’s face. He had an article pulled up on the screen and Leo could see pictures of him and Suyun from last night and pictures of them with their friends. Leo grabbed the phone and quickly scrolled through the article, reading about how they had couple bracelets and had been seen together many times as if to ‘tease the fans’ for not figuring out about their relationship.
“I..uh..hyung…” Leo had instantly woken up and he was reading the article over and over again, his mind was in a complete state of panic that he could even form proper sentences.
“Are you dating her, yes or no? I have to call back the company and tell them. New outlets have been calling since the story broke.” Their manager snatched his phone back and watched as Leo rummaged through his blankets for his phone. “What are you doing?”
“I have to call Suyun.” Leo said and their manager smacked his phone out of his hand.
“So you are dating her!” Their manager yelled. He looked like he was going to hit Leo but Ken and Hongbin stepped in and defended their friend. Hyuk and Ravi came from their room to see what was going on and N looked like he was about to cry. “You are in so much trouble!” He yelled at Leo before storming out of the room. Leo quickly got his phone again and called Suyun. He reached the answering machine twice before the call connected. All of the men of VIXX were sitting around waiting to see what was going to happen.
“Oppa…” Suyun answered the phone and her voice was shaking.
“Are you okay? Where are you?” Leo ran his hand through his bedhead as he tried to really figure out what was going on.
“They found out…” Suyun sounded like she was on the verge of tears and Leo let out a frustrated sigh. He hated that people just couldn’t mind their own business and lets idols live their lives.
“I know, I read the article. Did you tell your company?” Leo looked over to his friends who were all silently sitting there and watching him as the voice of their manager echoed around their apartment.
“Yes.” Suyun sniffled and let out a little sob. “I know we weren’t supposed to tell them but…they have so many pictures…”
“It’s okay, my company knows as well.” Leo and Suyun silently sat on the phone together. “So where are you right now?”
“I’m at my company. They are answering all of the reporters’ questions. They want to say we have only been together since a little before our concert…I don’t want to lie to our fans anymore.” Suyun started crying and Leo covered his face, ashamed to show his friends just how upset he was.
“Don’t cry, everything will be alright. I promise.” Leo whispered into the phone and Suyun just hummed in response.
“TAEKWOON! GET OFF THE DAMN PHONE!” Their manager screamed at him from the other side of the apartment.
“I have to go, but promise me you won’t cry anymore. Okay?” Leo said and he heard Suyun trying to force herself to calm down.
“I-I promise…” The words sputtered out of Suyun’s lips and Leo knew that she was going to cry again as soon as he hung up.
“Your brothers are in Seoul at the moment right? Maybe you should spend the day with them.” Leo didn’t want Suyun to be alone today and he knew that her brothers would protect her from any nastiness that might come her way.
“Yeah…maybe I should…” This time Suyun’s manager was yelling for her and they finally hung up. Leo cursed and threw his phone against the wall, not even caring if it broke. He laid back down onto his futon and threw his arm over his face but the guys could all tell that Leo was upset.
“It’s okay Taekwoon hyung….we won’t let anyone say anything mean about Suyun noona…” Hyuk spoke up and all of the boys agreed that they would stick up for the couple. Leo thanked them but he knew that there was very little that the boys could actually do.
Suyun was sitting in one of the small vocal training rooms. She had squeezed herself into the corner of the room, behind the piano, so when people looked in they wouldn’t be able to see her right away. Everything was falling apart and Suyun needed some place to hide. There was a knock on the door and Suyun’s head peaked around the piano to see Mark standing there was a sad smile on his face. He opened the door and stepped into the room, sitting on the chair in front of the piano.
“I knew you would be in here.” Mark said, hitting a few keys on the piano and Suyun just groaned in response. “They just realised that article that acknowledged that you and Leo are dating.” Suyun angrily groaned and pulled her sweater hood up and pulling the strings so only her nose could be seen.
“It wasn’t supposed to happen like this.” Suyun said as she was on the verge of tears again but she tried to keep her promise with Leo and held them back.
“I’m just surprised you guys got away with it for so long.” Mark hit a low key and Suyun just stared at him. Mark couldn’t help but chuckle at the sweater monster glaring at him from the corner.
“Everyone hates me.” Suyun whined from the corner and Mark shrugged.
“I don’t hate you.” He admitted and Suyun felt her uneasiness lift a little. “I hate Leo; but I don’t hate you.”
“Yah!” Suyun scolded Mark but he just laughed in return.
“If we were back in LA, you wouldn’t care if people found out if you were dating someone.”
“That’s LA….we’re in Seoul…there is literally an ocean of difference between them.”
“Thank you for the geography lesson, but what I meant was that it shouldn’t matter if you’re dating. You should just be happy that the person you like actually likes you back.” Saying the last part Mark couldn’t help but sound a little bitter. He hated seeing Suyun so unhappy and he wondered if she would be this upset if there was a dating scandal between the two of them. Mark knew that he could make Suyun much happier than she currently was with Leo.
“I just don’t want people to treat me differently.” Suyun pulled her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around her legs, curling into a little ball in the corner.
“I won’t see you differently. To me you will forever be the sweet, adorable, troublemaker that I knew back when we were trainees.” Mark reached out his foot and nudged Suyun who just smacked him away. “Now get up here and play me a song. I don’t give my words of wisdom away for free. One song for a lifetime supply of confidence.”
“That’s a stupid trade.” Suyun mumbled as she stood up and sat on the piano bench, the two of them squeezing together so they wouldn’t fall off. Talking to Mark and playing the piano helped take her mind off of the world outside that was surly bursting into mass chaos at the news of their favourite VIXX member being no longer single. Suyun needed to relax and she was glad Mark was there for her.
