“It’s fine if you tell me you want things over.” Jinki started as both of them sat on a bench while waiting for a bus to stop by. She looked at him and was surprised at first. As Jinki noticed her little surprised expression, he looked back and nodded. “You see… things won’t just be on our way, and I think one day you’ll get tired of me.”

Hwejin smiled, bitterly, though she was still trying her best to hide it. She knew Jinki too well. He’s the type of boyfriend who will never want to see her sad. That is why all the time she knew he was being careful at every word that he would utter.

He’s the most thoughtful and caring guy she could ever have, and letting him go probably is one of the biggest lose she could encounter.

“You think so, too?” She said as if she was feeling the same way. Jinki stared at her for about few seconds, and then he nodded. For 2 years of being together, she knew Jinki can be this naïve. “Perhaps, it will be for the better that we both decide to end this smoothly.” Her bright smile flashed, as if there’s no trace of pain in her heart.

“Can we still be friends? Will you forgive me for doing this?” Jinki asked worriedly.

She nodded and chuckled a bit, “I don’t have any reason to be mad at you.” She uttered and gently patted Jinki’s back. “Oppa has been very good to me all these years, and I know you’re doing this because you don’t want to see me suffer in the end.”

“I promise I’ll do well as an idol so you can be proud of me. The debut is in a week. I hope you could be there to see me perform for the first time.” He said when he felt like everything is going smoothly for Hwejin.

“I don’t think I can make it.” She revealed. “One thing I want to talk with you about is that… I’ve accepted the school’s proposal for me to study abroad.”

Jinki’s jaw automatically dropped. It was the thing he has been discussing with Hwejin to accept, but she was against it at first and told him she couldn’t bear live alone on a country she doesn’t know anything about. He was very hyped up to know Hwejin has finally decided to go for it.

“Wow, I am so happy for you!” He said and unconsciously held her hand. For once, Jinki thought he was still hers. “Finally… this means that your dreams are going to be true in the future!” He added.

It was awkward to be happy during this moment. It was a snap decision. She had no plans of accepting it but if she stays here longer while still seeing Jinki, she knew she couldn’t get over him.

Jinki was about to say something when a bus arrived. She automatically stood up, “There’s the bus!” She smiled happily and took her bag. “I’ll be going now. I hope we could still see each other before I leave.”

“Thank you for everything, Hwejin-ah. You’ve been a very big help for me.” He smiled and gently patted her cheeks. Jinki always does that whenever saying goodbye.

“Can I have a last hug?” She requested though she sounded very friendly. “I’ll miss Jinki-oppa, his weird habits, and his out of these world jokes.”

Instead of answering, Jinki just stepped closer and hugged her tight enough for her to immediately begin missing him already.

She had to let go quickly because she felt the heartbreak. For once she regretted asking for a hug. “There. Goodbye, oppa.” She smiled.

“No.” Jinki shook his head. “It’s see you soon. I’ll see you again and we’ll greet each other in the future.” He uttered, with him is a sweet and gentle expression, secretly sending her a message that the decision they just made will be the best for the both of them.

She ran to the bus and waved before going in. Jinki smiled and waved back, happy enough that everything is still fine between the two of them.

As she sat down, tears automatically fell from her eyes… and that’s when she hoped not to see Lee Jinki ever again. Seeing him in the future will just be another arrow stabbed on her heart.
