Springfield

B-Bomb looked up at the sight in front of him. His heart pounded quickly in worry. He didn’t like where this was going. The most he expected to happen was to have Kyung punch a tree or something but this? This sent shivers down his spine. He almost wanted to pretend he didn’t see it. Pretend he didn’t feel Kyung inside of the house in front of him. He gulped and turned away from the front door. That’s when he heard it. A scream. He flinched in place and turned back to the house slowly.

Fear shook him. He couldn’t let Kyung do whatever he was doing right now. His feet bolted without him thinking. He leaped up the stairs and arrived at the door. He jiggled the handle in desperation though it didn’t open. Rather than be more scared if he heard another scream, he disliked that he heard nothing else inside the house. He lifted his fists and banged onto the door.

“Kyung!” He screamed. His voice was loud but he couldn’t stop himself from stuttering, “Stop! Kyung!” He called him over and over while he pounded his fists into the door. A car pulled up just then into the driveway though B-Bomb didn’t notice, his head filled with dreadful thoughts at the moment.

A woman stepped out of the car and locked it behind her. She heard screams and looked up as she adjusted her purse on her shoulder. She cocked her head at the stranger as she approached him, “Excuse me?”

B-Bomb, startled, turned and found an older woman suspiciously looking him over. An older woman whose looks slightly resembled a certain werewolf sympathizer he knew. His heart leapt as he realized he wouldn’t have to break a window. “Hyunjoo needs me.” Was all that came out of his mouth. He cursed at himself for saying that but to his surprise the woman smiled wearily at him.

“Does she?” The woman opened the door with her key and let him in. She gestured him to the kitchen though B-Bomb instead ran up the stairs and opened the first door he came to. His eyes widened at what he found. There was no one. Not Kyung. Not you. Not a soul. His eyes searched the room and found an open window. He quickly breathed in and turned, running back down the stairs.

The older woman, who he thought to be related to you in some way, was about to offer him something to drink when he left in a hurry, closing the door behind him. She furrowed her eyebrows, “My daughter sure has quite the friend.”

You yanked your arms back and forth, not believing that you actually were having difficulty getting out of Kyung’s grip. He was stronger than he appeared, that’s for sure. He held fast though onto your waist as he practically dragged you behind him as he walked through the woods. “What do you want?” You angrily elbowed him. He winced though his grip still was as strong as ever.

“Just,” he grunted as your legs kicked him again, “testing something. Which you’re making very hard.” You scoffed as you sank your fingernails into his skin, something he knew he would feel once the adrenaline went down.

You hated being dragged around out of nowhere. No shoes. In just shorts and a white t-shirt. They couldn’t kidnap you when you were actually prepared to be dragged here and there? Of course not, otherwise it wouldn’t be as surreal as this felt. You didn’t know if he was going to kill you, skin you, eat you maybe. You weren’t going to doubt anything that these boys could do to you.

Kyung dealt with your thrashing long enough apparently because he threw you onto the ground. You landed on the hard earth, the underside of your legs and the back of your shirt got covered in dirt. Though that was one thing you were worried about, you also couldn’t help but worry about what Kyung was going to do now. He had walked with you for around thirty minutes and fast at that. You must’ve been at least a mile from your house, deep in the woodlands that surrounded Springfield.

You struggled to stand though it looked like Kyung wasn’t in the least bit worried about what you could do to him. “What exactly are you testing?” You spat at him in anger.

He looked to you, away from the woods around you two and gave you a knowing smirk, “Trying to find out the gravity of what we’re dealing with of course.” You don’t know why, but that gave you a bad feeling.

Two feet ran through the trees, dodging branches and jumping over roots. The feet stopped and their owner looked around. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He nodded as he opened his eyes again and ran to his left now. He didn’t like the speed at which the scent trail was going. It was strange. He didn’t think any human could run this fast and in such an abnormal pattern. It was almost as if they knew he was following them. He didn’t like that idea but now wasn’t the time for that. He couldn’t lose this trail, not if it killed him.

His phone rang, making him stop. He looked to the caller ID and frowned. He wanted to answer but he didn’t have time to. Not when he felt so close. The scent was getting stronger and he was getting ever closer. He ignored it and shoved it back into his pocket before bursting into a run once more.

“Is he picking up?”

“No, it’s weird. He always answers.”

“Sungjong isn’t home yet?” The two boys turned to the new voice, Sunggyu, as he entered the room.

“Yeah, he said he went out for air but he always gets back from his runs with time to spare.” Sungyeol frowned as he put his phone back in his pocket.

“Well yeah, he’s like a speed devil out there. It’s his terrain so unless he went to the Springfield Lake he should be back by now.” Dongwoo mentioned, remembering that the lake is the place Sungjong goes to think about things.

Sunggyu bit back his worries, thinking that Sungjong must’ve went to the Lake. Where else would he be? But he couldn’t help but get a bad feeling about this. He went to the closet by the front door and pulled out his leather jacket. Dongwoo and Sungyeol looked at him curiously.

“Don’t worry about it Hyung,” Dongwoo tried to stop him. If Sunggyu found Sungjong doing something he didn’t like, well it wouldn’t end well for neither Sungjong nor the rest of the pack.

“I’ll be back soon.” Sunggyu said before he closed the door behind himself.
