Jiyong’s POV…

“Fernandez Residence, Kona speaking?” A deep set male voice answered causing my heart to drop as I looked up to Bae in panic.

“Just answer.” He whispered as I swallowed loudly before turning my attention to the phone.

“Um, my name is Kwon Jiyong; I’m a member of…..” I started, not sure why I was suddenly introducing myself.

“You’re part of that group my sisters always talking about.” The voice explained sounding unfazed as I nervously picked at my rings.

“Ah yes.” I answered nervously causing him to laugh.

“Is my sister ok?” he asked hesitantly.

“Ah yes, I actually called to talk to your father, is he in?” I asked as Bae nodded slowly to my words before patting my knee.

“Uh, yah, sure, hold on.” He said confused before the line went quiet.

“What am I doing?” I whined over to Bae as I slightly began having a nervous breakdown.

“Hey bro, this had to be done sooner or later, and we’re not sure how her customs are. Better to be sure and do it sooner.” Bae whispered as I heard the line pick up.

“This is Ben Fernandez?” The voice answered as I swallowed.

“Ah yes sir, I’m Kwon Jiyong, I’m the leader of the singing group your daughter Hoku is working with.” I explained respectfully.

“Ah yes, it’s great to finally here from someone either than her from there. How is everything going?” he then asked interested as I blinked in shock.

“It’s going great sir; Hoku’s is a very hard worker.” I answered before he laughed.

“That she is, it’s great to hear that. We’ll how can I help you?” He then asked as I swallowed louder than I was planning.

“I actually called to ask you something sir, if that’s alright.” I mentioned nervously.

“Of course it is, is Hoku alright?” He asked as I felt my heart leap out of my chest.

“Yes sir, she’s perfectly fine.” I answered looking down to Bae in a panic.

“Then what is it?” He asked slightly confused as I shut my eyes, fighting with myself. I need to do this, it was better to do it sooner than later, having them find out through the media would be a bad thing on my part. I sighed once more before opening it to see Bae nodding his head in encouragement.

“I like your daughter sir, more than a fan, more than a friend. I’ve asked her to be by my side, but I called to get your approval before anything becomes official.” I blurted courageously, awaiting his answer on the now quiet line.

“What’s he saying?” Bae asked in a whisper as I shook my head.

“How old are you?” He suddenly asked sounding a lot more serious than he did a minute ago.

“25 sir.” I answered nervously unsure what else was going to be asked, I never had to do this before.

“Why do you like my daughter? And don’t spout crap like ‘she’s pretty’ or ‘she’s beautiful’. I want a legit answer, or I’m pulling my daughter home this very moment.” He hissed threateningly causing my eyes to shoot open in terror. My heart was beating a million beats per minute and it suddenly felt like I was going to be sick, but if I wanted this to work, I needed to do this.

“To be honest sir, when I first met her, she wasn’t like girls I’m used to being around.” I admitted looking down to my lap.

“How so? She wouldn’t give in easily?” He asked sounding angry.

“No, not at all sir.” I started making sure to get my point across to him.

“When I first met her, she looked at me as the human, Kwon Jiyong, not Big Bang’s G-Dragon. She’s the first female I’ve come across that’s ever yelled at me or told me she was going to rip my head and tongue off.” I explained causing him to chuckle.

“After she did that, it took me a while to realize that being with her every day and witnessing her hard work and personality first hand, that she meant more to me than anything had before.” I added truthfully explaining my situation.

“Sir, I mean no disrespect when I say this, but your daughter, I would give her anything she asked of me right now, even quitting my music, band and fans, I would give it all up for her.” I mentioned before sighing as I looked over to Bae’s slightly surprised expression.

“Is this all true or are you just trying to butter me up?” He asked hesitantly as I smiled.

“It’s true sir. A man’s promise.” I answered smiling.

“If I agree to this, what can you promise me?” He asked as I perked up in interest.

“I promise that I’ll always keep her safe and out of trouble. I’ll make sure she eats and sleeps like she needs to, and I promise more than ever to make and keep her happy sir.” I promised confidently causing him to laugh a bit.

“Mr. Kwon from this conversation, it sounds like you have everything under control there.” He answered causing me to laugh.

“If it’s alright sir, you can call me Ji.” I mentioned noticing he was having trouble pronouncing my name.

“I would like to personally meet you soon Ji.” He added as my eyes shot open.

“You would?” I asked surprised as he laughed.

“If I’m giving my daughter off, after all her recent heartbreaks, I would like to at least meet the man my daughter is with this time.” He admitted.

“Yes sir, but I’m too busy to come to the states and see you.” I answered causing him to laugh.

“I know that Jiyong, that’s why I’ll be in Japan in two weeks for some business, and I understand from the itinerary Hoku sent us, you’ll be there also, right?” He asked.

“Ah yes sir.” I answered smiling.

“I would like to meet you while I’m there to have drinks or dinner, would that be alright?” He asked as I smiled again.

“Yes sir.” I answered immediately.

“Don’t tell her I’m coming, I would like to also surprise her if that’s alright.” He added causing me to nod.

“And one more thing before I agree.” He mentioned as I gasped in surprise.

“Anything sir.” I answered with a smile.

“She has 3 brothers I’m sure you heard of, they don’t take lightly to those messing around or dating their sister, so I think it’s safe to say, it’s them you need to be more nervous of them me.” He said as my blood ran cold.

“They are very protective of her, her oldest brother, Kona, the one that answered the phone works with me, so he’ll also be present when I come to Japan.” He explained as I began sweating ferociously.

“Yes sir, I understand.” I said less confidently. Soon enough we exchanged numbers before hanging up. The phone basically dropped out of my hand and onto the phone, while I hung my head back.

“So?” Bae asked eager as I sighed massaging my temples.

“I’m dead.” I whispered as he continued to look at me confused.

“He said no?” He asked as I sat up looking to him before shaking my head.

“He’s coming to see me.” I added as his eyes shot open.

“Now?! Here?!” He asked as I shook my head.

“He has a business trip to Japan in 2 weeks, he wants to meet while we’re there.” I explained as he nodded his head slowly.

“Ok, but what did he say?” He asked still interested.

“I need to get past her oldest brother before he accepts it.” I answered as Bae’s eyes shot open in shock.

“Seriously?” He asked shocked as I nodded.

“He’s coming to meet me in Japan also.” I whispered hanging my head back again in thought.

“Hoku doesn’t know any of this so don’t say anything.” I mentioned while staring at the ceiling.

“Well bro, I feel bad for you now.” Bae teased as I snorted looking to him.

“Ya! Eden has 2 brothers too, so don’t think you’re off the hook either.” I teased as he immediately stopped laughing and looked to me nervously.
