Author’s POV…

Omma whined for Hoku to go up and sleep, Hoku just chuckled and nodded, not wanting to go against Omma’s words, she did as told. She made her way up the steps to the room she was using before she noticed Jiyong’s room door open. Stopping outside it, she peeked her head in to see that he was sitting at the sliding door just staring out of it.

“Jiyongie?” She called taking a step in before he quickly sat up and looked over his shoulder, smiling.

“Oh hi baby, you heading to bed?” he asked turning his attention back to the window while she walked over to him.

“I was going to sleep, what are you doing over here?” She asked standing to the side of him before he reached for her hand, pulling her so that she landed in his lap, her back to his chest.

“Come sit with me for a minute.” He whispered while she stopped struggling under his hold and nodded, resting her head on his shoulder.

“Is something wrong Oppa?” Hoku whispered resting her hands on his resting on her stomach.

“Just want to hold you for a bit.” He whispered into the back of her neck, savoring the delicious smell of her perfume flowing off of her.

“I like your family.” She whispered while he chuckled, kissing the nape of her neck before resting his chin on her shoulder.

“They adore you.” He pointed out causing her to smile.

“I’m glad they like me, not sure if I would be able to survive this weekend if they didn’t.” She admitted causing him to laugh.

“Baby, everyone ends up liking you, it’s actually burdensome for me.” He whined while she looked over her shoulder to him.

“Why?” She asked as he sighed, burying his nose into her shoulder.

“Because they want to steal you from me, you’re mine.” He whined while she chuckled, turning her attention back to the window patting his hand.

“Jiyongie, I’ll always be yours but you have to share once in a while.” She teased before he sighed and nodded, kissing her shoulder.

“Baby?” Jiyong’s voice broke the silence after a while.

“Hm?” She answered keeping her eyes up at the moon peeking through the snow that was falling.

“If I asked you to marry me, would you?” He whispered causing her heart to skip a beat before she sat up and looked back.

“Why are you asking me that Jiyong?” she asked confused before he sighed.

“It’s just a question.” He mentioned before she leaned back into his embrace.

“If you wanted to marry me then of course I wouldn’t reject you.” She whispered causing him to smile at the thought.

“You think we’ll get married one day?” He asked while she chuckled at his ridiculous questions.

“If the time comes, then yes, we will.” She answered calmly. Jiyong smiled at her answer, kissing her cheek before resting his cheek against her warm neck.

“I love you yeobo.” He whispered using that nickname for the first time. Hoku had to admit, she felt warm hearing him call her that.

“I love you too Jiyongie.” She whispered back curling up into his chest. The night ended, Hoku went to her room after fighting off Jiyong who wanted her so badly to sleep with him. Finally she was in her own room, and he was in his.

The next morning was Christmas morning, Jiyong was beyond ecstatic about the morning, he shot out of bed as soon as the sun woke him up. Washing up quickly, not wasting any time hearing his parents and noona already talking downstairs. He bolted across the hallway towards her slightly ajar door and peeked in to see her wrapped up in the comforters of the bed. Walking in quietly, climbing into bed next to her careful not to wake her as he stared at her features.

“Yeobo.” He whispered, smiling at the name he had come custom to calling her.

“Yeobo.” He whispered louder this time, tapping her nose watching as it twitched.

“Baby, get up.” He whined leaning over and kissing her lips. Soon enough Hoku’s eyes slowly fluttered open to the bright room before she retracted and buried herself under the pillows.

“Baby, come on, get up.” He whined trying to yank the pillow away from her.

“Jiyongie, this is supposed to be vacation, why are you waking me up?” Hoku whined from under the pillow.

“Baby, I have a surprise waiting downstairs, come on.” He whined pulling on her arm before she sighed in defeat, pulling the pillow away from her face.

“Alright, alright, I’m up. Can I at least change and wash up?” She asked siting up and stretching while he climbed out of her bed.

“Just hurry, I’ll meet you downstairs.” He said leaning over and kissing her lips once more before retreating out of the room while Hoku retreated to the nearest bathroom.

Slipping on a simple long sleeve sweater to stay warm this cold morning along with a pair of pants and black Ugg boots, she slipped her glasses and beanie on before finally trotting out of the room with a bag full of gifts in her hand.

Jiyong sprinted down the stairs and into the living room.

“Where is it?” He asked frantic to his mother who just stood there staring at him.

“Good Morning to you too, son.” Omma spoke calmly before Jiyong sighed.

“Good morning Omma, where is Hoku-ah gift?” He asked once again frantic causing his noona on the couch to chuckle.

“Jiyongie, your ‘gift’ has been where you told us to keep it, in Gaho’s room.” Noona explained before Jiyong took off towards the room without a second thought.

“You think she’ll like the gift Jiyongie got her?” Omma asked over to Dami who smiled across to her.

“I’m sure she will.” Dami answered before Omma smiled.

“Good Morning.” Hoku announced once she walked into the room startling the two women.

“Omo, Hoku, you gave me quite a scare.” Omma said as Hoku looked at her panicked.

“Omo Omma, are you alright?” She asked embarrassed before Omma brushed her off.

“You want some coffee or tea?” Omma then changed the subject while Hoku nodded for tea and walked off to sit next to Dami.

“What’s in the bag?” Dami asked leaning over to look in it.

“Oh, I brought some gifts.” She spoke as Dami looked up surprised.

“For us?” She asked as Hoku smiled and nodded.

“It was the least I could do for you guys.” She spoke before Dami smiled, Hoku and Dami were going to get along just fine. Omma walked over and handed the warm cup to Hoku.

“Thank you Omma.” Hoku thanked before sipping it in a sigh.

“Oh it’s so good.” She chirped making Omma happy as she sat on the love seat.

“What does your family do for Christmas dear?” Omma asked as Hoku sat back in her seat.

“We usually open gifts, then hang out around the house, sometimes we’ll go out and hang out somewhere.” Hoku explained while the two women nodded just as Jiyong came running back into the room.

“Ah, you’re here!” he cheered leaning down and kissing her cheek with the box still in his hands.

“Well where else am I supposed to be when someone basically dragged me out of bed?” Hoku asked over teasingly while she placed the cup carefully onto the side table.

“Alright, I got you something.” He said taking a seat on the coffee table directly across from Hoku.

“Ok.” Hoku said sitting up and getting ready for whatever surprise he had in mind.

“Wait, let me get my camera.” Omma interrupted standing up quickly to get her camera.

“Omma, hurry.” Jiyong whined causing Hoku to laugh at her impatient man. Omma ran back into the room before nodding for us to continue.

“Here, Merry Christmas baby.” He whispered kissing her forehead before placing the red wrapped box on her lap, tied with a white box.

“Thanks Jiyongie.” She thanked before pulling the bow, she suddenly felt the box move.

“Omo.” She said startled causing everyone to chuckle.

“It’s moving.” She whispered in surprise. She quickly pulled off the rest of the ribbon before slowly pulling the lid off. She was welcomed by what she didn’t expect, a lighter, smaller version of Gaho jumped out into her arms.

“Aigoo.” She said smiling holding the pup to her chest.

“She’s adorable.” Hoku cooed holding her into her chest, letting the pup her face.

“Jiyong, you shouldn’t have.’ Hoku whined while Jiyong smiled.

“I saw how much you missed Lexy back home, plus Gaho needed a playmate.” He explained causing her to smile.

“Thank you Oppa.” She whispered beyond excited before the pup climbed to sit in her lap.
“What’s her name?” Dami asked petting the pup while Hoku looked to Jiyong.

“Baby, she’s yours.” He said laughing while Hoku turned to look at the pup.

“Jolie. I like Jolie.” Hoku mentioned while the small pup trotted from Dami’s lap back into hers.

“I like the sound of Jolie.” Jiyong mentioned before Hoku remembered something.

“Omo, I almost forgot. Can you hold her real quick?” Hoku asked over placing the pup into Dami’s lap.

“I got you something too.” Hoku mentioned pulling out a small black box with a teal ribbon before handing it over to a surprised Jiyong.

“What? Baby, no.” He whined causing her to smile.

“You do too much for me Jiyong, it’s the least I can do, plus this was so you, I had to get it.” She mentioned before he sighed and nodded, giving in, pulling the ribbon and then the cover. He gasped seeing the gold ring sitting in the box.

“Is this from Chrome Hearts?” He asked speechless, pulling the ring out before slipping it on his pinky.

“I saw you looking at it when we went shopping in LA so I had my brother ship it over for you.” She explained causing me to smile and stand up. He pulled her out of her seat, startling the new pup before holding her against his chest.

“Thank you baby.” He whispered smiling over to his mother who was smiling through happy tears.

“Anytime.” She mumbled against his chest before he pulled away and pulled her into a surprising kiss. Omma’s camera immediately began going off at the scene.

Hoku cooked an American Style breakfast for the family which they all enjoyed. Hoku then was able to give the other members of the family her gift, various things she thought they would like from the states. Jiyong then took her out to the snow, riding the snowmobiles and four wheelers around the property till late afternoon. It was a perfect weekend that nothing could break or beat.

The last night of their stay, they both stood on the porch of Jiyong’s room, wrapped in a large heated comforter just staring up at the sky.

“Baby?” Jiyong whispered from behind her, holding her around her waist while his chin rested on her shoulder.

“Hm?” she asked answered never leaving her eyes from the moon above them.

“I got something else for you.” He mentioned before she turned to look at him annoyed.

“Jiyongie, no more gifts.” She whined causing him to laugh before turning her to face him, keeping his arms around her.

“It’s nothing big, promise.” He whispered kissing her cold forehead before she sighed in defeat. Once he knew she was ok, he reached into the pocket of his coat and pulled out a small box.

“Here.” He whispered holding it out as she took it hesitantly. She looked up to him surprised before opening it to see a beautiful ring.

“ I know it’s still too early for us to get married with my work getting busy again, but I want to at least give it to you now, even just as a promise ring, that we will get married one day.” He explained as she pulled it out and just stared at it. She could feel the tears welling up in her eyes as she smiled down to it.

"It's beautiful." she whispered staring at the heart shape in the center before it grew quiet.

“Are you upset?” he asked taking in the awkward silence. She looked up letting the tears fall before smiling.

“I’m not mad oppa, I’m happy.’ She whispered through her tears.

“Can I put it on you?” He asked happy before she nodded letting him take it before slipping it onto her right ring finger, they both didn’t want anyone getting the wrong idea just yet.

“I love you baby.” He whispered watching her smile down to it before her eyes sparkled looking back to him.

“I love you too Jiyongie.” She whispered smiling before he pulled her into a kiss. This was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, no matter what.
