Hoku’s POV…

I didn’t know what he wanted to ask me while we sat at dinner, but there was also something bugging that I wanted to ask also.

“As long as I get to ask you too.” I spoke causing him to nod before he looked up to me seriously.

“Is there something I did to make you not trust me or date me?” He asked as my eyes shot open in surprise.

“Um.” I started unsure as how to explain such a situation to him.

“I’ve never been in a perfect relationship to be honest.” I spoke looking at him as he nodded.

“I’ve always had my heart broken by guys I thought liked me.” I added as he nodded sadly.

“And to be honest, it has nothing to do with you, I’ve just haven’t had the time or energy to open my heart to someone else again.” I whispered hurt as he nodded sadly.

“Will there be a time that you might consider letting me in?” He asked hesitantly causing me to laugh.

“I’m already considering it.” I mentioned causing his mood to perk up almost immediately.

“Really?” He asked expectantly causing me to smile.

“I don’t know how well I’ll do dating a celebrity, but it doesn’t hurt to try.” I said sipping the wine before he smiled.

“So are you agreeing?” he asked leaning over the table before I sighed.

“You have to answer one of my questions before I continue to consider anything, and honestly.” I pointed out as he nodded hesitantly. I could see the hesitation in his eyes when I told him that, he leaned back in his seat almost immediately as if all the excitement had been drained from him.

“She was your ex right?” I asked keeping my eyes on my full wine glass in my hands.

“Um.” Was all I heard from him before I took a gulp.

“I just don’t want to agree to something and then find out later that it was all a lie, I don’t take lies too well.” I admitted slushing the wine around in my glass before looking up to see him just staring down at the plate.

“I told you the answer to that question a ton of times.” He whispered as I looked at him seriously.

“So she’s just a friend? Always just a friend?” I asked as he nodded slowly before I narrowed my eyes. He was definitely hiding something from me, but I couldn’t figure out what it was. I drank the rest of the contents just as the waiter made it back to the table, placing our food in front of us.

“Thank you.” I said as he bowed, filling my glass again before leaving us alone. It great awkward again as I quietly ate my food without looking up to him.

“Are you upset?” He then asked as I grabbed a napkin, holding it to my mouth as I chewed before looking to him.

“No, why would I be mad?” I asked uninterested sipping my wine.

“Are you sure? You look upset?” He pointed out as I sighed putting the glass down before looking to him.

“Do you want me to be upset?” I asked amused as he quickly shook his head.

“No.” He whispered down to his food as we continued to eat. I watched him off and on through dinner, he seemed to regret giving me that answer, he looked sad and seriously it was breaking my heart. I put my used napkin onto the table before I looked around the room, eyes landing on something I could use.
“I’m going to the restroom.” I mentioned standing as he quickly looked up to me worried.

“You’re not going to climb out of the window to ditch me, are you?” He asked as I laughed before shaking my head.

“No, I promise.” I answered still laughing, walking over to the piano placed behind him. Quietly I took a seat before pulling the cover off and onto the bench next to me. I noticed the waiter walking out of the kitchen so I quickly waved him down before putting a finger to my lips. He smiled and nodded, bowing before walking into the kitchen out of sight. Sitting there for a moment, I tried to think of something that would be personal enough to play for him but at the same time make him happy, that’s when it hit me. I smiled looking down to the keys and began playing the song for the first time on the piano.

Jiyong’s POV…

How could I lie to her, right to her face when she asked that? What the hell is wrong with me? Just tell her, it’s not like she’ll hate you, well she might when she finds out it was a lie. I sighed rubbing my forehead annoyed waiting for her to return from the bathroom. Tonight wasn’t turning out as happy and special as I planned for it to be. Groaning in annoyance I pulled out the rectangle jewelry box from my coat pocket before secretly opening it to show the simple gold necklace with a heart diamond hanging on the end. I almost about jumped out of my skin when I heard the keys on the piano right behind me begin to play, and to a melody I was very familiar with. I slipped the box back into my coat before looking over shocked to see Hoku now playing ‘That XX’ melody on the piano. She looked up through her red bangs, smiling as she played. How was it possible to fall so hard for someone I barely knew in the month we had been together? Was it even possible or did cupid have a hand in this dream? Looking at her sitting there with a serious expression painted across her face, listening as she played the melody perfect to the note for me.  I stood up slowly and walked over to her side, taking a seat on the edge, leaning back so that I could see the tattoos she had running up her spine through her hair.

“Start again.” I whispered as she laughed and nodded, tweaking the tone of the song to the beginning. I smiled, watching her fingers dance on the keys before I began singing the song.

I was surprised when she would sing back with me, singing the English phrases and chorus along with me. It was like something out of dream, I was happily sitting with someone I cared a lot about, she was playing for just me to hear, and on top of that a song we both could connect with. I smiled at her side profile, reaching into my pocket for the box, gently pulling it out before turning to her. She continued to play as I sang, unclipping the necklace before stealthy slipped it around her. She flinched in surprise, stopping from playing before she reached in front of her where it was hanging.

“What is this?” She asked as I clipped it behind her, before pulling her hair gently over it.

“It’s a present.” I smiled as she looked up to me with such lovely eyes, that it took everything in me not to lean forward to her.

“For what?” She asked in a whisper still holding it only letting me smile.

“For being you.” I answered reaching down for her hand, holding it in mine, before looking up to her.

“I like you, a lot.” I whispered embarrassed as she nodded, I could see the tears threatening to fall.

“I might love you.” I admitted as she gasped quietly before looking at me in shock.

“I….” I started before freezing in shock, she had her arms around my neck and her lips attached to mine. What was happening?
