Dahyun kept her eyes on her best friend as the said girl was laughing her heart out at one funny scene inside the manga. Soyeon slapped her thigh as she giggled while rolling around Dahyun’s bed continuously.

“Soyeon.” The response Dahyun received was just another giggle.

“Seon Soyeon.” Again, Soyeon just reply with a snort.

Dahyun had had enough with the girl as she stood up from her study chair and snatched away the source of laughter for Soyeon. Soyeon, with her eyes widening, just stared at Dahyun’s emotionless face with an awkward silence surrounding them.

“Uhh… Yes?” Soyeon squeaked out.

“Don’t you need to go home now? It’s almost 9. Your brother must be worried.” Dahyun muttered out while putting back the manga inside her rack.

“He is not my brother. We didn’t come out of the same belly.” Crossing her arms on her chest, Soyeon huffed in annoyance and Dahyun only raised an eyebrow. “Okay then. Step-brother.”

“Can you please stop mentioning about him? It’s driving me insane!”

Dahyun heaved out a low sigh and she mumbled lowly. “You’re the one who’s driving me insane.”

“So, are you going to sleep-over?” She asked in boredom.

“Can I?” Soyeon eyes twinkled and her fingers were crossed with a pleading face.

“No.”

“Why???” Soyeon puffed her cheeks out making Dahyun to pull her cheek. “Stop making that stupid face. My family has to go visit our grandparents’ grave early morning tomorrow to go pray for them. I can’t just stay back and take care of you.”

“Oh. Right… I guess so…” She finally remembered and nodded her head in understanding.

“I’ll ask Daehyun to drive you home.”

“It’s fine. Really. It’s just a 30 minute walk.” Soyeon assured her and she began to turn glum. “And now I have to see his face. Psh. Seon Yein. I hope he’s inside his room when I have arrived at the house.”

Dahyun let out a soft smile while looking at Soyeon who’s stretching her limbs. “If you keep talking about him behind his back, you’ll be punished, Soyeon-ah. Maybe the punishment is you will fall for him because of the hate you have towards the guy.”

Soyeon gawked at Dahyun in disbelieve and she shook her head fervently. “No no no! I won’t! You can cross my heart for that!”
