Without really thinking it through, Wonjoo had sprinted her way home, leaving Kihyun behind immediately. He blinked when she suddenly disappear from his side before looking over his shoulder.

“I’m right. What are you doing out late?” Hyungwon asked weirdly, one of his eyebrows was raised. “And who’s that girl just now?”

“Who?” Kihyun asked back to avoid suspicion.

“Never mind that. Anyways…”

After that, Kihyun didn’t even pay attention to his friend while thinking whether Wonjoo had reached her home safe and sound or not. It’s only 5 minute walk more so she should be fine, probably.

“Na Wonjoo!”

Wonjoo’s ears perked up upon hearing her uncle’s shout and she quickly wiped the tables clean.

“Yes uncle! I’m coming!” she replied before lifting up a tray full of used glasses.

Her uncle’s restaurant just closed for the day and they’re finally cleaning the place up. After that one visit to Kihyun’s house, they never see each other again for the past few days. Wonjoo even had the thought that he’s actually avoiding her because of her sudden confession, both about her feelings and secret.

Wonjoo placed the tray inside the sink, reminding herself to wash them up after talking with her uncle. The twins? They went back to their grandparent’s home outside the country and it’s been 5 days she was struggling about her workload that was increasing. Thanks to heaven though, her uncle manage to get another worker as her assistant.

“See you again, Wonjoo noona,” Sunyoul waved as he wore his sling bag over his shoulder.

“Yeah. You’ve worked hard, Yein.”

“You too,” he smiled before leaving the workplace.

“NA WONJOO!”

Wonjoo snapped out of her thought and she almost trip while making her way to her uncle. “YES! I’M HERE!”

She kept a blank look as her uncle was showing his scared face, holding onto the chair desperately. “WONJOO HELP ME! THERE’S A COCKROACH!”

Silently eyeing her uncle’s muscle, she snorted before it turned to a laughing fit.

“This girl… I asked you for help, not making fun of me!”

“Do your best, uncle.” She was about to go when she heard her uncle’s blurt. “You’ll get 10 dollars from me!”

“Why didn’t you say so just now?”

After killing the source of her uncle’s shouts, Wonjoo really did get some pocket money though she thought her uncle was joking just now.

“Here’s your pay Wonjoo-yah. Have fun on your free day tomorrow,” her uncle slapped an amount of money on her palm before waving her goodbye.

“Yes! Thank you uncle! Have fun on your date tomorrow too! Say hi to Harim eonni for me!” she teased and ran out of her uncle’s restaurant before he could tackle her to the ground.

“Na Wonjoo! Wake up you slothful girl!”

Wonjoo felt her duvet being pulled and she tugged over at the other end with a frown. “Mom, please… I need my beauty sleep…”

“You’re not even a beauty in the first place so cut it out. What kind of girl overslept until now? Which boy wanted to marry you when you’re this lazy? Get up, this wench.”

She felt her mother’s hit over her and she cried out of pain. “MOTHER, PLEASE! I’ve been working non-stop and this is the only free day that I have-”

“I didn’t ask you to work. Now get up or your brother is going to vacuum your breakfast too,” she gives her daughter disapproving eyes and at the word ‘breakfast’, her eyes showcased the word ‘horror’.

“NA MINGYU! DON’T YOU DARE!” she leaped over her bed and dove through her mother’s arms to get to the kitchen.

“Every morning will always be this loud,” Mrs. Na sighed.

After washing up, Wonjoo was just drying her hair with a towel when she heard her phone ringing. Looking at the unknown number, she answered the call.

“Hello?”

“Wonjoo.”

Wonjoo’s eyes widened in recognition and she looked at the number on her phone screen. “Kihyun?”

“Can you fetch me some medicine? I think I have a fever.”

Worriedness fell over her when she heard his cough and she immediately stood up. “Where’re your parents?”

“They’re working. I don’t want to bother them. I can’t leave the house
