“Son Hyunwoo, 6 o’clock. It’s your chance now, girl. No other fan girls in sight.”

“No. I take that back. Let me just hide inside my locker and stay there until I rot.”

“You ain’t gonna fit inside it no matter how small you are, Kang Jein.”

“I saw this one show where a beautiful tall lady could fit inside a briefcase-”

“That’s because she’s been cut off of her limbs, stupid.”

“Gosh, guys. Stop talking about your Criminal Mind shows. No one wants to hear it.”

The 4 best friends immediately shut up when they heard footsteps nearing them and the one with the long wavy black hair, Kang Jein’s her name, literally froze as if a blizzard just passed by. The footsteps halted right behind them as one of the guys sniffed.

“Oh. I smell something good.”

Jein bit her bottom lip and she wanted to chuck her home-made cookies inside her bag so much but she can’t, not when the guys are just right behind them. Taerin who was at Jein’s left nudged her side while Ahmin, at her right, cleared , giving her signals to just do it. Shibin even pulled Jein’s backpack, asking her to turn around and give the treats but shy Jein didn’t budge.

Taerin seems to have had enough so she spun around, making the guys to stare at her in confused. “Jein. Don’t you have something to give to someone?”

Jein’s eyes rounded in shock when her best friends forced her to face the guys with the packet of cookies in her hands. Her eyes immediately landed on her crush as the guy stared back at her questioningly. The blondie who said the words from before had his eyes locked on her hand, or specifically the treats.

“Ah. Cookies. It smells delicious…” His nametag told them that his name was Shin Hoseok.

Jein blinked at him and she immediately hid it behind her, stopping him from devouring it inside his mind. “I’m sorry but it’s for someone else…”

“Rejected,” Im Changkyun clucked his tongue jokingly while Hoseok elbowed him to shut him up.

“Guys, maybe it’s not even one of us so we should just go-” Yoo Kihyun was cut off by Shibin right away. “How do you know it’s not one of you guys? Jein didn’t said anything-”

“If you didn’t notice, there’s a maybe at the start of my sentence which means it’s either ‘Yes’ or ‘No’,” he scoffed and she shot him a not-amused look.

“Umm… H-Hyunwoo sunbae-nim… H-here…” Jein nervously reached out the nicely wrapped baked chocolate peanut cookies to the respective guy, partly to avoid her friend and her crush friend’s bantering in the middle of her show-time.

Shownu blinked before pointing a finger to himself, emphasizing it was indeed him that she was going to give the present to, “Uhh… Me?”

They went silent as the dead and he can’t help but to mumble again, “Like… seriously, me?”

Jein felt her heart crashed when a sudden thought invaded her mind. “Do you… not like it…?”

“No, no, no!” he blurted and held over her hands, wanting to actually take the present but she kind of squealed before backing away at his out of the blue hold. “God, I’m so sorry! Uhh… I-I…”

“You two needs to stop the ing cliché love story and just-”

“Stop crashing the beautiful mood down just because you’re bitter about not having your own girl and sweets to eat,” Hyungwon interrupted Jooheon’s speech at once as he clamped a hand over the guy’s mouth.

“I know!” Minhyuk suddenly voiced out, surprising all the people there at once. “Why don’t you ask for her help with your arranged-marriage problem?”

The girls’ eyes almost bulged out of their sockets, “Arranged-marriage?!”
