“Really? What did he say after that?”

“I don’t know.”

Mirae’s eyebrows were knitted together when Haru’s answer come flying inside her ear. Bringing down the mystery novel she’s reading, her eyes flit to Haru in confusion. “You mean he walked out on you?”

“No. I ran out on him.” Haru bluntly replied.

Mirae can’t help but to face-palm at that. Mirae slipped in the book’s ribbon, the sign where she left her reading, before giving all of her focus on her best friend. “Let me guess where did that plaster on your nose came from.”

“You bumped to a locker,” Haru eyes widened as Mirae put up one of her finger.

“Then to the wall,” Haru began to gape while Mirae showed her a peace sign.

“Lastly, to our classroom door.” Haru whined when Mirae put up another finger.

“Just for the sake of not bumping to him.” Muttering with a shake of her head, Mirae kept her eyes on Haru who was rolling around on her bed.

“It’s so embarrassing I could dig a hole and bury myself in it and just die…” Haru spluttered what she really felt and Mirae could see her face getting redder and redder.

Mirae noticed her best friend who suddenly got silent from the whining and she squint her eyes at Haru who buried her face on her knees. Standing up, Mirae went to get something before sitting down at the edge of Haru’s bed with the thing in her hands.

Mirae patted Haru over her arm and the said girl lifted her head up slowly. “What?”

“Look at this.” Mirae showed Haru a calendar. “You do know that we’re having winter break starting tomorrow, right? You won’t be able to know his answer until school rolled in next year.”

Haru’s eyes rounded in recognition when the fact finally hits her in the gut. “Oh. My. God.”

“You didn’t really think this through did you?” Mirae raised a weird brow.

“What do I do?! Does that mean I have to wait?! I know that I don’t want to hear his answer this early because he might reject me but I never thought of that!” Haru jumped out of her bed while pacing around her room, biting her nails nervously along the process.

Mirae was about to calm her down when Haru suddenly shrieked, making her to flinch in surprise. “What if he forgot? What if he doesn’t care? What do I do if he thought that my confession never happened and I won’t ever hear his reply?”

Haru break down for part two as Mirae raised her hands in defeat. “Look, girl. I can help you but don’t beg to go home in the middle of it.”

“What?” Haru turned her head to Mirae in confusion and she suddenly stood up.

“I’ll see you tomorrow, Song Haru.” Then, Mirae left.

“Why did you drag me into this?!” Haru hissed when she met eyes with Dino in a split second before diverting her eyes elsewhere, doesn’t really want to feel the awkwardness between them. “I thought you said that I’ll sleep-over at your house and not at Jeno’s!”

“I want to help, if you didn’t notice.” Mirae muttered while Haru shook her arm continuously.

“By going to Jeno’s vacation house with the others? Noooooo. That doesn’t sound like a good idea to me.” Replying with a sarcastic tone, Haru blew her bangs exhaustedly.

“Relax. This is why I didn’t want to bring you with me. You’ll overreact and it’s as if the world is ending in your eyes.”

Haru was about to retort when Jeno suddenly spoke up. “Since we have even number for both boys and girls, we can actually make pairs while doing the games, or chores, when we’re here.”

“Why are we here again?” Haru asked again, begging Mirae to explain the situation about Jeno.

“Jeno’s left alone since his parents had to go meeting overseas and they’re afraid if he burned the house down-- I mean, if he’d be kidnapped or something, because he is the heir to Lee’s Paradise Hotel, if you get what I mean. I, as his close cousin, was forced to come here and babysit him by his parents. Uncle and aunt let me invite my close friends over and that is why you’re here. It’s last minute decision, really. Think of it as a sleep-over to his house. He even invited 5 of his best friends.”

“Mirae. Thank you for coming. I know you won’t tattle about me to my parents.” Jeno let out a beam as he showed her the folded papers.
