Mingi lifted up the bin before making her way towards the back of the school where the garbage truck would pick up the useless trash which consisted of mostly crumpled papers and wasted stationaries. Her steps were halted when she heard a conversation that was just around the corner.

“Are you seriously dating the new girl?”

“Yeah. Rumors about you guys were spreading around like wild-fire.”

“She’s pretty and cute so you’re one damn lucky guy.”

“Tell me the rumors are just rumors. She caught my eyes first.”

“What do you mean by that? Finders keepers, losers weepers?”

“Yes. That’s what I mean.”

“The Aeyoung girl just transferred a week ago so it’s highly unlikely.”

“She’s my girlfriend.” A different voice that stayed silent just now, spoke out and they went silent as if they’re in a graveyard.

Mingi felt her heart shattered upon hearing his announcement as she gripped onto the bin, as if to erase the painful feeling from her heart.

“I need to throw this. Let’s just ignore them.” Mingi heaved out a sigh, wearing her earphone and connected it to her phone before blasting her ears with her Hip Hop music.

Mingi went out of her hiding place as the guys focused their gazes on her who appeared out of nowhere. She’s just doing her thing silently. When she’s done, she left the scene as if she didn’t hear anything.

“Continue. How exactly? I thought you’re not interested in having a relationship at the moment?” Kihyun keep on the chat after Mingi left.

“She’s my childhood friend.” Hyungwon revealed with a shrug.

“Oh. So it’s like a first love thingy?” Minhyuk guessed randomly.

“You can say that.” Hyungwon answered in boredom.

Hyungwon felt his arm being patted and he turned to see his side. Aeyoung waved with a smile and he straightened up from leaning over the wall.

“Done?” He asked.

“Yes. Let’s go.” She nodded once.

As they were walking beside the street, he brought up a conversation so they don’t appear that awkward. “How’s school today?”

“You sound like my father.” She teased making him annoyed. “Yeah. I am your father. So, tell me child. Did any of your friends bully you?”

“Chae Hyungwon!” She let out a giggle while slapping him over his arm, asking him to stop as he chuckled with her. “School’s going smoothly. I like it here. I have a new trustworthy friend since she’s like a worm-book so I like her.”

“Same class?”

“Yes. She’s nice. I wanted to help her with class duty today but she declined, saying that I’m the new student so I shouldn’t be doing this yet. I’ll introduce you to her some other time.”

Mingi came out of the convenient store with a plastic bag in her hand and she messaged her mother that she had bought the things that she needed. Keeping her phone in her pocket, she was about to go home when she heard someone calling for her.

Looking over her shoulder curiously, she almost let go of the bag in surprise when she saw the new-born couple. “Mingi-yah!” Mingi gave Aeyoung a forced smile when the said girl arrived beside her.

“Are you going home?” Mingi nodded as a reply and she glanced at the tall slim blonde-haired male beside the pretty girl.

Aeyoung noticed Mingi’s sudden look and she pulled Hyungwon beside her. “You guys haven’t met yet but this is Chae Hyungwon, my boyfriend.”

“Hey.” He greeted and she bowed her head a little at him. “Hello there.”

“Are you using this road too?” She answered as a nod yet again and Aeyoung grinned in happiness. “That’s great! Let’s walk together.”

Mingi blinked at the invitation and she shook her head fervently, making Hyungwon to raise a weird brow. “I-I don’t want t-to be a third-wheel… T-Thank you for a-asking…”

Mingi fled the uncomfortable space hurriedly. Aeyoung and Hyungwon stared at her retreating back with a question mark on their heads.

“That’s the girl that I was talking about anyway.” She stated with a small smile.

“You sure she’s your friend? Seems like she’s avoiding you.” He blurted while she smacked him on the arm. “Hey. She’s kind. Maybe she’s afraid of you.”

“I did not look that scary.” He shot her a look.
